Reading through posts about relationships, I’m reminded of my mother’s saying when relationship problems arose. If someone said, “There’s two sides to every story”, her ( wise) answer was, “ No, there’s three sides, his, hers, and the truth, which will be somewhere in between”.

What are your wise sayings?

Really like Squiffy's the smallest good deed is better than the best good intention. My dad used to say something like you need to walk in someone else's shoes before you criticise them - wish I always remembered that.

The only time it is ever OK to look down on someone is when you are giving them a hand up.

Stand for something or you'll fall for anything.

My late Mom used to say "Youth is wasted on the young" I used to think she had lost it and roll my eyes.

Now I find myself saying it. Only now with age I get it, ofcourse

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Though I'm struggling to see how that applies to this week's back trouble!
