Well, today started really badly but.......

Kittylester i recommend using Kleenex Ultrasoft as since I've started using them if I've left any in a pocket they always come out whole so result! lovely distraction though :-)

What a lovely phone call to receive Kittylester. I do miss them as my oldest friend from school died suddenly this time last year. But on the subject of tissues, from experience with my lovely Mum when she was alive, the tissues with aloe vera do not break up as badly as the normal ones. She always had pocketfuls of tissues because of a runny nose. But in the wash they mainly stayed in the pocket so if my washing was full of tissue bits it was the DHs fault as he used normal ones.

3 eggs just now, smashed all over the kitchen floor, and no silver lining, as I have been out in town, passed many people I recognised and was struck by how absolutely ancient they looked - my age of course!

What a lovely distraction. This morning as I got a carton of blueberries out of the fridge I spilled the damn things all over the kitchen floor. There I was on my hands and knees with a brush and dustpan and my language was choice, I can assure you.
On top of it all I've got a bad cold, coughing, sneezing, dripping nose and short temper due to lack of sleep. I'm off to the chemist any minute now for some Night Nurse.

DS2 has needed a great deal of emotional support recently, and I have been texting and calling him up to 20 times a day. So when the phone went at 5 to 7 this morning, I was in a real state. It was one of those "BT" calls by an Indian girl. Normally I am polite. Today, I wasn't! I was FURIOUS! I asked her if she had any idea what time it was here, and if she thought i was going to listen to her stuff she had another think coming, and slammed down the phone... [poor girl].
But 0655? Surely no-one calls at that time unless it is an emergency.

She is too bone idle to do much these days but she is still an expert mouser! Very sweet and cuddly though when in the mood.

I hope you roped her into helping you pick the tissue off your washing!

I have a glove with little rubber studs on it - I bought it from the pet shop to remove surplus fur from the cat as she hates being brushed. She didn't like the glove either which is about par for the course but when DH left tissues in his trouser pocket it really came into its own. Highly recommended for detissuing!

Lucky, your post gave me wry smile. She is exactly 6 months younger than me and uses a walker or stick, has had 3 new knees and has had 3 prolapse ops none of which have been successful so has to wear pads all day every day.

Makes my conjunctivitis seem very, very insignificant.

How lovely to get a phone call like that out of the blue, hopefully makes the de-tissueing pale into insignificance. (Often a tumble dryer can remove that stuff, that followed by vigorous flapping, the washing, not you, then maybe finish off with a lint roller/washing glove? Good luck.)

Nothing like a break to make a bad task seem better. Better than de-tissuing when they have been through the wash!

Speaking to old friends can be interesting - but not as much as seeing them. They have all aged so much - unlike me of course!
