Funny weather

Years ago my daughters wanted to do something different in the winter school holidays, they chose a picnic on a beach !
three of us went to Pembrokeshire , no problem with parking ?, sat on the beach and watched the most incredible sight of a winter thunder storm , it was so beautiful

I vividly remember a very cold and snowy night one January in the early noughties. My neighbour had just returned from a trip to Australia and I was thinking, what a welcome home, all that and a spectacular storm too, thunder and lightening the lot.

It is fairly common, I can remember several cold Decembers when we had spectacular lightning.

We had one last Friday, I think it was. It seems very odd, thunder and lightening when it's so cold, or in the winter at all. I vaguely remember thunder and lightning outside when I was in the delivery room having DS2 on 27 November 1983. But I thought I must have been imagining it until last week.
