Hello everyone, we have arrived at Mill Rythe holiday centre. Thank you Gransnet, but, oh well, we will try it. It's freezing cold outside, although not snowing or raining, which it did do practically all the way here. We can not book in until 4pm, so are in "The Ballroom", partaking of mulled wine and mini mince pies. I'm sure we are the youngest here, and DH says he feels quite boyish. Has the feeling of holiday camps of yore, many years ago. I think we have been spoiled,as we have never been anywhere like this since my teens.
Michael, from Brackley, posted that he was going on a Turkey and Tinsel break. I hope he is enjoying it. Perhaps we can compare? Till the next time.

Enjoy Auntieflo!

But you've now made me want a mini mince pie... grin

Laura, thank you, but we actually came home this morning. It was so disappointing, as I had been looking forward to being fed for a few days, without thinking about it. We were given the key to our room, ( I can post a couple of pictures if you like). The toilet was disgusting, the door had been damaged inside and out, and did not feel secure. The, very small, room was dingy and very unloved. Grim. I took photos and left DH in room! and went to reception. We were given the key to a better room, but on looking round, we had already decided not to stay. Staff arrived with towels and some complimentary goodies. Maybe an effort to appease us, I don't know. The food was OK, all the staff that we met were lovely and we had congenial table companions. But, after breakfast this morning, we were off, and are now warm and comfy at home. I don't know what we were expecting, but it wasn't this.

What a shame Auntieflo. I tend to give holiday centres a miss when booking breaks away, I have horrible memories of the one and only time I went to Butlins. Dreadful place.

I'm so sorry to hear this Auntieflo. I'm going to contact the organisers and send over your comment word for word so that they can see it. Hopefully they'll be able to get in touch with you directly about this.

Laura, that's very kind. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Harrigran, thanks. I must admit to not having been to a holiday camp since DD was less than 18 months old, and we went with my parents. I don't remember much about it, except that she was ill for most of the week.

What a huge disappointment.
I will confess that I googled it after you posted yesterday and I would have been on my way home.
Hope you are not too down about it.

What a shame, so disappointing when you have been looking forward to something. Looking on Trip Advisor it has some iffy reviews.

On some of the bumpf that we were handed, there is a request to post on Tripadvisor, but I thought I'd let GN know first. Perhaps I should have looked on there first tchsmile
