Resisted the dark chocolate brandy snaps but did eat crisps.
Now I'll go to bed out of temptations way.
Hopefully the snow will be gone tomorrow or those brandy snaps don't stand a chance!

lemongrove Don’t worry about the salted chocky caramels. They were awful, you wouldn’t have enjoyed them. Instead I have decided to recycle the rubbish gifts I received from so called friends last year. I have earmarked the nostril hair trimmers for you, only used a couple of times.

I remember my sister getting an empty selection box one Christmas, she was about ten. I asked how that happened and she told me she found it hiding under the sofa and helped herself to an item every day or two and then put it back. I don't know whether mother knew and wrapped it anyway or was blissfully unaware

I think there is a serious threat to my Waitrose Stollen Slices today. I've got a cold and they have known therapeutic properties.

That’s very disappointing Artyfarty I was particularly looking forward to those choccies, and anyway I already have the nostril hair trimmers, as I decided last week that wearing my nostril hair in plaits was a bit old fashioned.
I will settle for a giant Toblerone though!

I diligently put half a large bag of popcorn (sweet and salty) in a bowl. Sealed up the rest and left them in the kitchen. Sat on sofa, ate popcorn and then thought "Oh, bother (or another word??) I am going to eat the rest!" And I did!! I am sure that popcorn is good for you (fibre?) so a whole bag is better for me than half a bag?? Surely that is true, eh?

Sadly not Danni but it may have gone stale anyway if left in the cupboard.Popcorn never keeps long ( in our house.)

Sigh. Am filled with self loathing. A box of soft nougat called to me from the cupboard where it was safely stashed for wrapping and giving away. It seemed rude to ignore this call.
We don't have any snow. No excuses.

There is no point me buying Christmas chocolates this early. I have finally had to accept that chocolates get eaten quickly. I have won some Thorntons chocolates in a competition and am waiting for them. I will put them in the bottom of a cupboard and be strict with myself this year. Not optimistic but I'll try.

At our age I feel we are entitled to spoil ourselves. Have another chocolate for me

Just off to check out M&S online for chocolate covered brandy snaps. Anyone tried the French chocolate covered Crepes Dentelles? To die for.

Thank goodness I have to go out today.
Being out will wake me up and cheer me up!

About a month ago I bought 6 Terry's chocolate oranges for the GCs as stocking fillers. I have gradually eaten my way through the lot and I don't even like them!!!

Annifrance, do not buy the M&S brandy snaps! They will be all gone and I have to replenish men

The soft nougat I buy for Christmas went yesterday, and I feel slightly ashamed to say I’ve started on another box that was intended as part of a gift. I just hope there is some left when I can get out, as it was particularly requested!

Put a fat photo on the fridge ! Of course you can always send me the plain chocs if you don’t want them !!

It’s fatal when your on your own at home comfort eating but this time of year it’s not easy

I know the feeling. I've lost some weight but I fear I may self-sabotage any further success.
I've got some cooking chocolate in the kitchen cupboard, a large slab of which only about 70% of which is required for the recipe I've got in mind. So happened to the other part that isn't needed? I ate it of course. Oh dear.

We've had 4 inches of snow and it's fortunately beginning to melt today but I'm nervous about going out in the slush and falling over - it doesn't take much! So yesterday I did my cards, read, pootled and ate nuts and sultanas and really missed my daily outdoor exercise. I'm sure I've put on weight again as a result. Oh yes, I must own up to having a piece - just a piece - of dark chocolate which I love. Snow makes me fat!!!

Aren't you the lucky one, Eglantine. I was out at 8 a.m. yesterday and 8.30 a. m. this morning sweeping snow off the front path and the pavement along our front garden, all 14 ft of it, then salting same area. So I will willingly change places with you!

Householders are required by law here to clear snow from the pavement in front of their property, so I am thankful it is nice, dry, light-weight snow that can be swept, instead of being shovelled.
