Snow!

It snowed on and off all day in the Thames Valley. Our WI Xmas lunch, which is usually excellent, has been cancelled for tomorrow ?

No more significant snow due to tomorrow so hopefully we will be able to drive to the South Downs on Tuesday to see our two GSs in their respective Nativities - one is a shepherd the other is proud to tell us he is the Narrator, with one line to say !

We now have Mountain Rescue working in the town, no milk tomorrow dairy snowed in, no groceries roads closed , all schools closed and all council staff instructed not to drive to work by car, as there are no buses why not just say offices closed .

Had nothing here in Suffolk but high winds all day rain and freezing cold

We had a couple of inches here which caused chaos. Last night's heavy rain had washed the grit from the roads and so they were slippery.
DD took 2 hours to make the 25 minute drive to us to pick up her sons. She told us that she had to have a couple of pushes on hills and stopped to help others too, even giving a stranger a lift home.
She stayed at ours and we all played in the snow. The snowing has stopped and it is now starting to freeze but the family had an uneventful journey home.

Just slushy stuff that will prob freeze tomo in Surrey

We've had snow flurries here today, some on the heavy side and it was starting to settle, but it's stopped again now and was beginning to melt away. Dropping really cold now it has got dark.

It's quite beautiful in Bamburgh, although no snow had been forecast. Have filled flasks and hot water bottles in case we get a power cut. Thank goodness for the log burner if that happens.

Started snowing here 30 minutes ago, thick covering already. It is coastal as DS has escaped inland.

The snow is beautiful here - but dark at 4.30 pm, so that's it for the day. I tried to go to the post box, but snow too deep.

I took my DM back to her home in St. Anne’s yesterday. Returned today to Norfolk.
No snow at either end , a bit of a flurry round Newark but great trip back, much quieter than usual.
I did put off visiting my sister in law in Stoke which was a shame so I did bow to the weather a bit.
Sorry to all of you that are finding it difficult.

They are really nice people

Loads here and everything cancelled, trains, buses and theaters.

DH walked to get a paper but getting a car out would be impossible.

Neighbour came round to say they were walking to the shops and did we need anything. Does that mean they think we are really old or are they just really nice people?

Not a single flake here (central Scotland) nor on the hills. Sun has shone from a cloudless sky from dawn till dusk - but - it is positively Baltic -4 in the car and +13 according to the thermostat in the house when we got home. Warming up now indoors.

Watching a rugby match this pm, Harlequins v Munster, probably in London - the poor men, I don't know how they kept going!

Faling down now, settling everywhere, I smile when I look at it, but then I don't have to go out.

Oh! It has changed its mind. Now coming down with a vengeance!

It's been snowing most of the morning in London turning slushy but still snowing. I see kids going past wit sledges on their way to the hills in the park. We won't be going anywhere today but tomorrow we need to get to the hospital for OHs Radiotherapy and the hospital is a bit out in the sticks so fingers crossed.

Steady snowfall in North Somerset, settling on grass but not on road or footpath - yet!

That'll teach me - I turned and looked out of the window and saw huge white flakes, sticking too.

Except where there is still a sprinkling on the fields, all ours has gone now. Ho hum!
