Very dark and frosty here.
My lunch yesterday was, like the curate's egg good in parts.
The fish and chips, small portion, were delicious.
My friend was in good form, she managed to get in that both her son's have Mercedes, but for one his is a second car ,his first being a Range Rover.
There is no shortage of space if they go to visit as he has 5 bedrooms, she gets this in every conversation and they have lived in the house for about 10 years now. He recently took her out for lunch and the wine was £52, by then I switched off and my other nice friend was pulling very funny faces at me.
I have 2 quite poorly Gd's, both have very bad throats and dreadful coughs which really hurt their chests.
Both have been to the Dr to be told it is viral, just take paracetamol and lots of hot drinks. I think the message about Ab's is finally getting across.
I hope the one who is due to visit on Sunday is ok as they live near the South coast and it is a 5 hour drive without traffic hold ups.

corner the only way to get the strike through other than that you have suggested is even more of a faff. You have to leave an extra space, type a hyphen, go back before that hyphen and type another, thus. I’m getting fed up with Apple and their updates. I was very annoyed about the sweater. I always get them from the same supplier and they changed the manufacturer last year. The other brand were reliably machine washable, and it says that these are, but, my stupidity on this occasion not withstanding, because they have a very different ‘feel’ I have not risked it.
I have been awake since four o’clock with the words of “The Ruler of the Queen’s Navy” running round in my head, and I am still polishing the handle in the big front door and copying the bloody letters in a big round hand now!!! Save me someone!

Looks like a great time was had by all in Edinburgh. I have been to three meets now, one in Birmingham and two in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. Always lovely to meet people on here and put faces to names.

I woke at 5 today, and realised I would not get back to sleep so decided to get up. I have made a start on putting up the Christmas decorations so when Partner is home tonight it will all be done (he was away overnight with his job).

Hair appointment later today, then a visit to Mum and a visit to my ex Manager to catch up on the news at wish her Happy Christmas. Oh, then babysitting tonight ...phew! How did I find time to go to work

Been out all day. Visited a Christmas thing in some caves with friends who live near there. OK, it’s probably intended for children . It was fun. Lifted the spirits. Sounds as if your outings have been doing the same ann.

Shame about the journey soop, you must be exhausted now, but the meetup seems to have made it so worthwhile. Delighted for you all. It was good to be reassured you had all behaved .

It’s frustrating when we know we’ve done something daft greyd, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve another sweater just like it though.

galen. I think the strike through is an oddity after recent Apple updates. The only way I can do it with the iPad is to use the mobile site. Tap on the I in the circle immediately below the text box (where you type your comments). A list headed styling appears. Tap on the word delete. Four hyphens appear. If you type in the middle, so with two hyphens before and two after, you should get the strike through to appear. I know it’s a pain faff. With luck someone will be able to tell both of us an easier way.

Crossed post, Soop. Really glad you all had a wonderful lunch in Edinburgh; sure it was worth the travelling traumas!

He’s a handsome lad, N&G - if he happens to leave any of those lovely tail feathers behind, be sure and save them for me - they are worth their weight in gold to a fly tyer! Hope you have a lovely weekend with the boys - it’ll be lots of fun! Worth being cream crackered for! We are expecting His Nibs this weekend. The tree is up and we are under strict instructions not to add a single bauble until he gets here! As for bills going up to cater for them, I know the feeling! But they are worth every penny.
We went out for a walk this afternoon - it was perishing and muddy underfoot. We went to find a few red berries I could add to a door wreath that, nice as it is, needs a bit of colour adding to it. The birds hadn’t left us much though! I was glad to get back indoors!
I did a stupid thing today. I got an expensive lambswool sweater mixed up with my fleece tops in the wash and it has shrunk beyond redemption. It would just about fit Duncan, GS’s teddy, now! It certainly won’t fit my ample frame again! It was such a lovely colour too. .

Home again after a very hectic two days away. I haven't the time to read through all your latest messages, as I still need to unpack and sort myself out.

I've had a wonderful time in Edinburgh after a journey of buggerations galore.
The lunchtime meet up was perfect in every way. All the ladies present, were wonderful company. We laughed a lot. Marydoll is really refined...she and I got along very well indeed. All the Granspals are simply the best. Thank you all for the fun we shared.
I have one sad thing to share with you. The photos did not turn out well. In fact, every photo that I took over the two days is rubbish.
Here is my pathetic Granspal meeting contribution. Apologies to all the lovely ladies who are well out of focus. Bah!

I am so pleased that Sam is warm again- I was going to inform the RSPCA but luckily he will not have to be re-homed albeit temporarily.

Its warm inside here and we have had a successful day. Grampy has put all the lights up without mishap , we did our shopping for our weekend visitors ( why does my bill go up so much - its not feeding the 5000)!!

I got the list from the little boys as follows :

Cookies
bacon crispies
cereal in little boxes
party rings
a car
and a football !!

That is all they require for the weekend !!!

We are looking forward to it immensely but imagine we will be dead on our feet by sunday night.

As if M&S wasn't enough for one month's treat, today I am going for a pub lunch to mark the birthday of a friend whose birthday was last month but she wasn't well
She was 81 and it's rather scary when folk start not wanting to go out.
She is my friend who actually is very hard work but there will be one other lovely friend with us. We keep our contact as she is widowed but it sometimes comes close to saying no more.
Very cold but beautiful sunshine and a clear blue sky.

Charleygirl, you have to remember we were in Edinburgh and people are very refined and genteel, so we had to behave and remain restrained. (No matter how difficult it was)
Now, if it had been in Glasgow, that would have been another matter.

That really is a long trip and she obviously has to do the return journey with very little rest in between. Bad enough if one is 21 but soop is marginally older.

My concern is that [you lot] did not empty the building with your noise and hilarity. I do hope that everybody had a safe journey home.
