Perhaps I should have made myself clearer and used the word response. So often it's the follow up posts that make me giggle. However, seems my suggestion doesn't appeal so I will retract.

Please could Gransnet set up a 'Witty Remark Of The Day/Week' forum topic section.

Often several to choose from each day but my current vote would be for;

Just opened jar of use by 2008 marmalade - consumer still alive. Must go and check the 'Armageddon' cupboard to see where the knocking sounds are emanating from.

Found in the subject post 'Co-op to sell food past its 'best before' date'.
