While making lunch, I asked Alexa to play me songs by The Seekers. I was happily singing along while preparing our gammon steaks and mash, then it hit me! I could remember all the words to all the songs!
I didn't realise what a huge fan I'd been blush.
Does anyone else have similar song memories?

I now have Georgie Girl running through my brain. My friend and I use to listen to songs and take the words down in shorthand for practice.

Sadly I remember the words to Tommy Steele's Little White Bull.

I even remembered to words to the Wreck of the Old 97. shock The Seekers must have made a big impression on my young teenage self!

Fennel I didn't realise Fats Waller sang 'Little curly hair in a high chair' - my Dad used to sing it to my ED in the sixties and never thought to find out where he remembered it from.

I often sing Morning Town Ride to my little DGS.

The Carnival is Over is one of my favourites
I don't like many female vocalists.
But I do like listening to Judith Durham and aso Karen Carpenter.

Christmas carols, all the old hymns and lots of 60s songs. DH says I sing carols all year when I am doing housework or cooking. ??

I can also remember the words to all the school hymns, and the hymns and choruses we sang at Sunday School.

I can still sing along to all my Motown favourites, and I do, much to my families dispair.
I never could sing in tune sad

I can remember the older songs and I hear them relatively frequently because I enjoy listening to them. It is being able to remember the words of the hymns we sang at school that amazes me as I am not religious so never listen to them.

I'm always surprised at how many words I remember to songs I've never even liked. I like to sing along, and see how far I can get before it becomes hazy.

The old hymns, always, and I love singing them. We sang a couple at our local outdoor memorial service recently - it was obvious that the older contingent didn't need the hymn sheet. My voice was never sweet, oldgoat!

I was singing to Elvis s Wooden heart and could remember the German bits although I don’t speak German
I knew a lady with dementia who used to sing all the east end pub songs like ‘roll out the barrel’ and ‘doing the Lambeth walk’ etc word perfect

Yes I can remember all the hymns and I miss singing them. Our church is all modern now - guitars and stuff Yuk- love a good Wesleyan hymn.

I can sing lots of music hall songs as my grandmother used to sing them to us.
