Day6 says "we live and learn". We can only hope that we don't stop learning even at our age. It might not take ten years, perhaps in five years or less some hard lessons will be learned.

I wonder Day6 whether in ten years time you might look back and think that you were pretty foolish at the age you are now and wish that you had known a year or two back what you may understand by then.

Yes, we live and learn. I wish I knew in my youth what I know now.
I made lots of mistakes when young because I didn't think things through, but they were all good lessons.

Were they optimistic or foolhardy though?
If it hadn’t been for you and your trolley, they wouldn’t have got in into their van, and you say ‘they did tie it up,sort of’ !
Moving pianos is better left to those who have experience of it.
In this case, they were treating it like a freezer.
I am of an optimistic nature generally, but older people do see pitfalls which is actually a good thing, it compensates for actually being older.

But it made me realise how much more young people are capable of than we older people, with all our anxieties and cautiousness. Always thinking of what's going to go wrong.

I have to say that is a bit of a sweeping generalisation. I am an optimistic 'can do' sort of person and often have to buoy up the younger generation of the family who see obstacles where there might not be any. They are often much more aware of risks.

I don't think optimism depends on age.

Yes, we should try and emulate their optimism.
