The elephant population is plummeting
Trump lifts ban on bringing elephant trophy carcasses into the US.
Overturning Obama's ban.
The man is a sickening vile individual angry.

However, he is to be impeached by the democrats, so it might not get through.
They are also trying to stop him having his finger on the nuclear button.

Cherrytree59 Thu 16-Nov-17 17:41:38

WW yep!

DJ I have read that they are trying to have lawyers on hand to stop him taking a unilateral decision to press the red button.
Not sure he would listen
Just hope they can keep him away from it by any means

Have checked BBC, but as yet no news re impeachment.

If bringing poor dead elephants back to US what does that mean regarding the ivory trade?sad

"Members of the Senate foreign affairs committee called into question a decades-old presidential authority to deploy nuclear weapons in what was the first congressional hearing on nuclear authorization in decades.

"We are concerned that the President of the United States is so unstable, is so volatile, has a decision-making process that is so quixotic that he might order a nuclear weapons strike that is wildly out of step with US national security interests," said Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Connecticut.
Sen. Ed Markey, a Democrat from Massachusetts, echoed those concerns: "Many Americans fear that the President's words could turn into nuclear reality."

Republican members of the committee were less blunt in their criticism of Trump's judgment but did seek assurance that there are legal and strategic oversight measures in place to prevent the rash use of nuclear weapons. "

From CNN.

He's determined to undo everything Obama did no matter what it is. He doesn't care who or what suffers.

Morgana Thu 16-Nov-17 18:56:14

He is a great believer in guns and I would imagine that the out of date concept of the noble hunter would appeal very much to his ridiculous sense of masculinity. Makes me laugh how he stands tall and puts on that expression of superiority.

joannapiano Thu 16-Nov-17 19:47:27

I read in the paper today, that his sons are keen hunters and love their guns.
I was really upset to read of this latest stupid decision he hopes to get through.

Speechless!

The man is truly loathsome, nothing would surprise me.

Cherrytree59 Fri 17-Nov-17 17:34:55

Thanks dJ
Both DH and I have signed.
It's good to actually see so many people from around the world adding their names.
Not sure if it will make a difference, as the poor excuse for a man is a one brain cell monstersad

There is one trophy carcase that I wouldn't mind viewing.

Iam64 Fri 17-Nov-17 18:27:17

Trump truly is a dreadful individual. It seems to his supporters though, he can do no wrong. Facebook featured numerous photographs of his equally awful sons standing by various wild beasts they'd shot. The African safari shoots seem particularly dreadful because they're aimed at animals bred in captivity, simply to stinking rich Americans can go and pretend they stalked a wild lion/elephant/giraffe. Imagine, shooting a giraffe - what kind of cruelty is that?

TerriBull Fri 17-Nov-17 19:28:02

Words fail me. What makes anyone want to kill a beautiful creature to keep as a trophy sad

Greyduster Sat 18-Nov-17 15:50:07

It seems he has been prevailed upon to reconsider the proposal, so it is on hold “while he considers all the conservation facts”! The man is unspeakable, as are his countrymen who get a kick out of killing endangered animals.

Cherrytree59 Sat 18-Nov-17 16:06:18

Gd thanks that's good news for time being.
Hopefully he can be stalled until he is no longer the vile potus.

Daddy can I kill an elephant
and bring it home for
Christmas?
Sure y'can son, I'll just
change the law no problem,
I is the President of United
States of America!'

durhamjen Mon 20-Nov-17 16:17:02

Trump has just tweeted that he's putting the plan on hold having considered the facts. Not sure if that means altogether, a long time, or until we all forget about it.
Avaaz say that the BBC say it was because of massive social pressure.
Petitions can work!
