Well, the sale went through and we now own this new bar,
Isn’t it wonderful?
So clean and shiny ( that won’t last!)
Come on in, have a drink and tell the tale of what you have been up to.
All the old staff are here, in the cellar checking the stock, but will be up here shortly to take your orders.???

Well now that you mention it, Fabrice offered to escort me to Waverly Station to catch the train to Glasgow and on the way we stopped for a little refreshment....
Unfortunately, I can't remember anything after he insisted on showing the barista how to make an Argy cocktail.?

Jane10 Thu 21-Dec-17 20:53:48

Not Diana - stupid autocorrect on the phone it was Dinah!

Jane10 Thu 21-Dec-17 20:52:54

Has anyone seen Fabrice? Antoine is lost without him and is kicking himself for not accompanying him to Edinburgh. He's left umpteen messages on his mobile phone. He thought he got through once but all he could hear was some sort of singing about a very game girl called Diana. Is she a regular?

lemongrove Thu 21-Dec-17 18:00:43

You’ll do for me Soop rough as ye are! tchgrin

soop Thu 21-Dec-17 17:17:43

lemongrove It could be a bit dodgy for anyone wearing dentures. Before I could toss the dry fruit into the mix, it missed the bowl and decorated the kitchen floor. Although we no longer have cat hairs to give it texture, there was a tidy pile of grit and fluff lurking in a few, dark corners. Must make an effort to sweep it up before folk who are houseproud come calling. Would hate to earn the name - messy mare. I've a good reputation to maintain.

lemongrove Thu 21-Dec-17 16:50:16

Oh goody, a baked Soop offering ( wot the ‘ell is it?)
We can slice it up and sell it as bar snacks.?

soop Thu 21-Dec-17 13:24:41

A belated thank you to Marydoll for the pleasure of a blether at the Edinburgh do. I was knackered when I arrived and she was totally civilised when I proceeded to bore the drawers off her. As a token of my regard, I shall leave one of my home-baked catastrophes for the tasting of. It comes with a health warning for those with delicate constitutions. tchwink

Menopaws Tue 19-Dec-17 21:56:20

What are you saying Lemon? I'll lock up tonight to give u a break, me and Limoncello are just having a nightcap, won't be long...

lemongrove Mon 18-Dec-17 23:27:56

Shall I lock up for the night?
moon
Sleep tight (all the regulars do.)

lemongrove Mon 18-Dec-17 23:26:45

Careful Meno I think she is involved with’ The
Cosa Nostra’ ( the bar at the other end of town.) They are a rough old crowd down there.

Menopaws Sat 16-Dec-17 18:23:07

Tea dance? The Argy doesn't do anything that involves tea. I'm having a shandy with Lemoncello, lemongroves Italian cousin, she's a lovely girl, drinks like a fish

Marydoll Wed 13-Dec-17 22:52:31

I meant to say, Soop and I had a business meeting ( hence the photo shoot) about the fact that there are two rival cafés on GN. We have come to the conclusion that there is room for both of us.
As every day passes, the refinement gap grows larger. The rough CAN rub along in harmony with the smooth. Soop was shocked that I'm definitely not a posh bird, but exactly like my Argy persona.?

JaneD3 Wed 13-Dec-17 22:51:32

It’s a chilly night. Hot toddies all round?

Friday Wed 13-Dec-17 22:34:57

At least with a name like that he should smell good.

Friday Wed 13-Dec-17 22:34:23

I’ve looked at the photos that were posted, it was a bit blurry (but that could be me) which one around the big table was Febreze. I have an idea but better not say in case I’m wrong

Marydoll Wed 13-Dec-17 22:21:48

You will never believe it!!!!!?Fabreze turned up at the Edinburgh meet up!! I think Jane 10 brought him. Thank goodness I managed to keep BIG Jim away. He would have stood out like a sore thumb in such refined surroundings. That "See you Jimmy" hat does nothing for him?

Friday Wed 13-Dec-17 22:21:02

Been at my Salsa class lemoncurd - I’d give that Debbie Whats’ername from Strictly a run for her money I tell you.

Do we have dance nights at the Argy? How about a Tea Dance? brew

lemongrove Wed 13-Dec-17 21:24:30

I hope this vicar isn’t outstaying his welcome for you Friday he does sound very demanding ( is he a defrocked vicar?) wink
Is lemondrop the Oz cousin of Lemongrass? Well, the more the merrier I say.tchsmile
Where is everyone tonight, at home making mince pies?

Friday Wed 13-Dec-17 08:33:47

Sorry I didn’t get to accost your offer to try out the new super coffee machine lemondrop but we’ve been snowed in since Sunday. The Vicar was none too pleased at first as when we ran out of red wine on Monday night, but he’s discovered a taste for Bailey’s (and cherry brandy).

Just been dug out by the local Brownies.

JaneD3 Wed 13-Dec-17 08:23:27

Isn’t it quiet? It’s the Scottish lot getting ready for their knees up. Should we get some hang over cures mixed ready for when they get back? Raw eggs and Tabasco, that kind of thing.

Jane10 Tue 12-Dec-17 13:12:24

Those boys are a big worry to me. Modern life does not seem to suit them somehow. They are not without skills though. Antoine is a very talented embroiderer and Fabrice sings beautifully. Quite unusual to have a male soprano but he seems to have found his forte there.

Menopaws Mon 11-Dec-17 22:04:41

Oh I've missed Fabreeze and Anusol, how are they?

lemongrove Mon 11-Dec-17 09:16:27

Opening the bar for coffee has picked up again with the punters, and we are making loadsa money.Sales dipped briefly after George Clooney escaped, but at least we had the super coffee machine. What folk will pay for a cafe and a
cupcake we are quids in!
If anyone fancies a cup, either me, Meno or Chewy will be on hand this morning, with Jane and Marydoll covering for the afternoon and Friday all evening( hope we can trust everybody with the till) hmm

lemongrove Sun 10-Dec-17 21:01:25

They will be very welcome Jane but they have to keep their distance from Barry and Big Jim, and also the Admiral.
Or there could be trouble!

Yes, I think Lemongrass must be a distant relative ( on the wrong side of the blanket) Meno she keeps popping up here and there.tchgrin and may well be from the US of A for all I know.

Friday we only have a back yard here at The Argy, the beer barrels are all stored there ( no garden.)
It’s where Barry goes for a quiet smoke and where Big Jim likes to sit out ( when warm enough) with a wee dram.

Am now very worried about the invasion of our ladies luncheon next week.
Fabrice and Antoine's new job as bouncers at the church sherry evening hasn't gone well. The verger caught poor Antoine quite a clip when he was being 'helped' back to his bike. I may have to re employ them. They may come as my bodyguards to the GN lunch.
