Insomniacs not so anonymous!

Hello Marmite and Annie I've been awake since 2-30ish.
Don't want to get up and disturb the two little DGD's who are sleeping here but would love a cup of tea, never mind. Have been reading and am now listening to the rain and trying not to think.

Hello Annie. I've been thinking about you (I've been awake since 1.30). I know how everything goes a round and round in your mind at this time of the night. All the what iffs. I hope the message from your daughter brings you some comfort. You have 100s of GNetters with you. Perhaps by now you have managed to drift off.. ..I hope so x

Here is grumpy (but loveable) lurcher!

Beepingow battery on smoke detector, grumpy lurcher claiming most of my bed, very small but annoying sleep claiming problems here last night! Love to all with bigger problems though.

Just read through all these posts - I guess I'm one of the 'lucky' ones who go to bed and sleep for a few hours but have been there and done that over the years and its hell. I've seen me working on spreadsheets at 3am worrying over cashflow when we were in business, being woken by OH snoring (been in separate rooms for some years which made a huge difference) been stood outside my parents house at 2 am waiting for the care team when they both had dementia and their personal alarm had triggered - mum was a terrible insomniac and was always up and down during the night all her life - she was in so much pain in her later years she still got up and used to fall. Then there have been my cats - this one is in my room and gets up at all hours to use the tray so have to get up and clean that and usually can't get back to sleep and the alarm goes off at 5 so little point in trying. On the whole I probably have 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night now but seem to have gotten used to functioning on it. Compared to you all I feel lucky with that. Annie my heart goes out to you especially - life is so unfair x

Our pets can be such a comfort can’t they and vice versa.
Another reason why I shall be glad when the fireworks “season” is behind us. Hattie discovered last night that she is indeed scared of the whooshes, and whees and bangs. I hated seeing her trembling and panting.
Glad she is asleep now though.
Thinking of you Annie I hope you get /got some rest.

2.30am. mug tea. I miss talking to Honey in the nights. She use to lie next to me and put her head to the side listening. Lottie sleeps all night.

AnnieI hope you manage to get some rest tonight. When my DH died suddenly and I didnt sleep for weeks, my GP gave me a prescription for zopiclone- just for 7 nights. I wasn't keen but after some time I took it. It helps.

I have been awake and busy all day, Every now and then I think of Annie and feel dreadfully sad for her and her family.

As many have said, when I woke during the night I thought of you Annie. I’m hoping someone is with you at this sad time.

Of course I should have addressed that to annie. Addled head this morning.

I also first thought of you when I woke in the early hours and again a little while ago. There is much love out here for you.

When I woke in the night, the first thing I thought of was you and hoping that you were also not awake.
