Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

Been up since 4 and just had my breakfast ?. Going to church today and will say a quiet prayer for all. maw you and annie are constantly in my thoughts. I hope you are both sleeping now. My mind is just going over and over the things that are going on in my life, worrying, as we all do, about my family. Hope all of you get some rest and peace.

MawBroon Sun 12-Nov-17 05:39:33

I so agree NanKate with what you say about the support.
Never one to have either a big family or a big circle of friends, I can honestly say I have never in my life felt so “lifted up” by the (albeit virtual/online) caring of others.
Many will have faced or be facing their own tribulations and we each of us is different, but we can relate to the pain of others.
Thank you ALL out there, too many to name, but you probably don’t know how much you are helping. flowers

I too have been up and down since 4am and trying now to find the will to get the ironing board out. Annie your words from Blake are lovely and I am glad that everyone's comments are helping both you and Maw a little through your pain. Life is so difficult for so many for different reasons - whatever they are we feel so alone in the middle of the night. My poor mum suffered all her life with insomnia and depression - she was always relieved to see the new day dawn.

Very little sleep last night, when you live alone and can't sleep it seems as if your the only one on earth , wish Lottie would wake as Honey use to but she sleeps right through bless her.

Anniebach Mon 13-Nov-17 03:03:04

2.45am mug tea , so drinking some Ensure at 8.30pm isn't the answer. Cannot eat anything more bland than chicken for dinner , . This is the only thread where I hope I will talk to myself, it means everyone is sleeping. Lottie fast asleep.

MawBroon Mon 13-Nov-17 05:35:33

Oh anniebach I am sorry I missed you!
Foolishly got involved with paperwork too late last night as I am collecting the certificate from the Bereavement Suite st the hospital tomorrow morning (this morning!) to register Paws Death on Tuesday so ended up in bed much much later than I meant.
Determined to make the effort to sleep, I did manage till 5 which seems to be becoming my default wake up time.
Not a lot to do around 5 o clock when it’s cold and dark is there? If it was summer Hattie might get an extra walkie but she shot through to the sitting room as soon as I let her in from the garden with a look that said “I am supergluing myself to this sofa - do not attempt to turn me off”

Anniebach Tue 14-Nov-17 04:34:31

4.00am and mug of tea. So tired. Lottie flat out. She sleeps such a lot.

Artyfarty Tue 14-Nov-17 04:59:03

Hi, anyone awake? I can’t sleep either. 5am and laid here listening to OH snoring for Yorkshire.

Grandma70s Tue 14-Nov-17 05:47:28

Hello, all fellow early wakers. Quarter to five for me this morning. Could be worse, I suppose. I have a mug of tea, and the tv news with the sound muted.

Willow500 Tue 14-Nov-17 22:00:45

Wishing you all a better night tonight. I got up at 3 am to sort the litter tray out and then had weird dreams about cats so was awake again before 5 which was better than yesterday's 4 am. Annie I wish we could help you with your reflux problem. Have you tried slippery elm? Very old fashioned I know but my dad (who had 1/3rd of his stomach removed in his late 30s due to a duodenum ulcer so always had problems with his digestion) used to take it. I think you can get it from H&B.

So feel for all of you struggling esp Maw and Annie-my heart goes out to you both. I have no reason to wake or just not go to sleep but that's how it is. Last Sat was the worst for ages, must have fallen briefly asleep about midnight cos had a brief strange dream which woke me! That was it then, finally went back to bed about 5am. Still didn't get off easily. DH didn't wake me so went to church on his own. Sunday night took some Night Nurse as threatening a cold-mustn't succumb have a choral concert on Sat so slept better but felt "drugged". Didn't sleep well last night so am feeling wretched now and just HATE the thought of bedtime approaching. What's to do?!

Anniebach Wed 15-Nov-17 04:55:00

4.30 and mug tea. Later than the usual time but still far too early.

Grandma70s Wed 15-Nov-17 05:21:56

4.30 for me, too. I’ve had the mug of tea. I tried to go back to sleep but it’s hopeless. Anyone else awake?

cornergran Wed 15-Nov-17 05:41:32

Two o’clock and then four thirty for me. What is it with four thirty? Hope annie and grandma have nodded off again. It’s all a bit early. . Plan to listen to some music and at least relax if I can. No point getting frustrated with myself.

harrigran Wed 15-Nov-17 05:41:55

Been awake since 4.30, given in and got out of bed, sitting in the study. Just looked out of the window and half the street is up with lights on.

Gagagran Wed 15-Nov-17 06:40:42

4am for me then disturbed dozes on and off until 5.30. Why can't we just go to bed, go to sleep soundly and waken 8 hours later, refreshed?

MawBroon Wed 15-Nov-17 06:43:15

I find myself returning to my bad habits of going to bed late, last night after I had walked Hattie I started looking out some papers and it was well after midnight.
I have no trouble getting to sleep though, yesterday I had nodded off in front of the TV so no change there, and when I woke up alone, my first thought was aoh, Paw must have gone up to bed first on his own, sad
Apart from a brief wake up, and I can’t quite remember why, I made it through till 6 and in a funny way I am welcoming (if that is the right word) these moments on my own as I do feel he is closer. Right now the birds are singing outside our window and I am in no rush to start a day of arrangements and formalities.

Marydoll Wed 15-Nov-17 07:13:00

Awake on and off all night. I had the most bizarre dreams. Ir seems I have written a book of poetry and students are coming from all over the world to hear me read extracts from it!!!!
We have DGD daughter and I'm shattered before she has even arrived.sad
I hope everyone gets a rest today.

NanKate Wed 15-Nov-17 07:24:20

Maw I’m not sure going to bed late is a bad habit if that is your natural way of doing things. I too fall asleep very easily it is keeping asleep that is hard.

How sad for you waking and thinking that Paw was in bed. I wake up and for a moment I am my old self then I think what cruel actions and words is my DinL going to use against my DS today. It breaks my heart to see him so badly abused. He is doing everything he can to end the marriage but she refuses to sign the divorce papers even though she committed adultery. She wants all the blame to be on DS. Life is not fair. ?

Anniebach Thu 16-Nov-17 04:48:16

4.30am and mug tea. Tried going back to sleep without the tea but wretched reflux is bad tonight again. So tea and rennies then hopefully back to sleep ,so very tired.

Nana3 Thu 16-Nov-17 05:15:37

Hope the tea and rennie have done the trick Annie. I have been reading for an hour, going to make tea now.

Grandma70s Thu 16-Nov-17 06:06:32

Woke before 4. No hope of more sleep. Is there any answer to this? I feel I’m only half alive, if that.

Anniebach Fri 17-Nov-17 03:54:36

3 45am, mug tea, wretched reflux , I am so tired. The tea warms my tummy . Hope no one else awake

Shirleyw Fri 17-Nov-17 04:13:21

Morning anniebach....have let dogs out and now back in bed with a cuppa and iPad....soooo annoying as I'm wide awake.. ........iPads are soooo handy ?

annsixty Fri 17-Nov-17 05:40:52

Morning anyone.
Like annie I have dreadful reflux, I am choking with it.
I have doubled up on lanzoprozole but
GP says I need another gastroscopy.
H woke up at 12:30am , got dressed and went downstairs, my S and I had to persuade him to get undressed again and back to bed. Then of course I daren't go back to sleep in case he did it again .
