My newish neighbour phoned this morning and asked if we liked apple pie and apple crumble......ooooo yes, says I, she says call round in 5 mins and I'll pack them ready for you, I wait 10 mins to give her time to pack all my lush goodies, but she beats me to it and and calls here, hands me a very heavy carrier bag (I'm thinking, some for freezer and some for tea, yum)......its a bag of apples!!!, I am a bit dissapointed, but will have apple sauce with pork for dinner and it was kind of her, but she did mislead me! Lol

Clever!!! Perhaps she also thought you would make her one!

Funny! I have been given a bag of cooking apples today ...

Haven't decided what to do with them -enough for two good puds (this from the person who wrote on another thread that we don't often have puds smile). I think we will probably have a crumble tonight ...

A friend has left a large box of windfall Bramley apples on my doorstep today. I have a produce stall outside my front gate and raise money for the local Hospice.
I make large quantites of stewed apples for a dessert but DH likes apple pie..........

Wish I lived next door to the lady giving away Bramleys. Have you seen the price of them in the supermarket?
Never thought I'd see the day when a home made apple tart or crumble becomes a bit of a luxury!
