I absolutely adore Christmas, DS2 was born on 13th December, so Christmas in our house never started until 13th. Now he is married and has his own house , Christmas for him and our other son starts 1st December. We start putting decorations up 1st week in December, as we have real trees they wait until 13/14th Dec. DD and GS3 (2 3/4 yrs) live with us at the moment, so delaying the excitement of Santa I think is beneficial and adds to the magic of December.
Have purchased some gifts, struggling this year as we lost my DM at Easter and she was the heart of our family and very much a full on Christmas person.
I have a dilemma which fellow gransnetters may be able to help,me with. DM used to buy a large toblerone for all adult children and their partners, which was always a source of jokes on Xmas morning making exaggerated guesses as to what they could be (very distinctive shape as you know). Should I carry on with this tradition or start a new one ?
