Well it's clear from more Jingle threads ( one going back to 2012) that flouncing, pleas for come back, oh wonderful she's back have been going on for years and that several posters who are still on here were fed up with it then and I guess probably still are. Whether it's flouncing or being banned I couldn't care less but clearly it's a long running saga that is tedious and boring and attention seeking so I'll just leave you to it. Perhaps there could be a Jingle thread under Religion/Spirituality
Someone mentioned hero worship of jings and that bullying is too strong a word for what happened.
I don't hero worship jings but enjoyed her posts despite being annoyed by some of them.
I believe there was some hounding of her initially and yet more when she has been back 'under the radar' i call that bullying.
The thing about 'newbies' is that they don't know anyone else's 'back' story Or the virtual relationships that exist.
A polite newbie would see how things develop rather than rushing in and complaining straight off
I was told my wi analogy was bad - so try this one -walk into the nearest pub when you first move to an area and demand that one of the regulars be banned because they were rude to you.
notme I meant the cliques which sometimes form on forums to support a popular member. I've seen it more than once on here, and on other forums. And it often ends up in unpleasantness. Neither a leader nor a follower be, that's my nature. Though I usually say when I agree with someone's point of view.
Jings, FFS would you just invent another username and join in, not on a thread about you, so no-one, including HQ, will be alerted and we can just go about business!
I've come on to this thread again mainly to add my support to Notme, Baggs and others who are trying to point out to Imperfect and maryeliza that they are labouring the point.
This thread was started as a kindly birthday greeting and many of us joined in because we missed jingl and would love her to return.
I'm disgusted by the way this thread has been hi-jacked. I have started threads myself in the past year about the injustice of jingl's banning. If you'd voiced your indignation/spite and determination to pour oil on troubled waters on those threads it would have been more fitting.
You've made your point so why don't you just give it a rest?
Well you're clearly starting again Notme - and as you clearly don't like the current state of GN then as you say, you're going back to Twitter. You could PM your twitter handle to your friends and supporters on here and they could tweet their birthday wishes to you next year without having a third year of this type of birthday wishes thread
maryeliza, there are people on Gransnet whom I "feel negatively" about. It would be wrong of me to express my negative feelings about them in public. So I don't agree I was being harsh towards imp. No harsher than I'd be with myself anyhow. If other people think it's harsh of me to say it how I think it is, then so be it. I believe in fairness. Fairness is more important than people's perceptions of harshness.
Notme / Jings I am sorry that the initial intent of this post has been hijacked by what followed. I won't take up any more of your thread space except to answer one other comment (nearly wrote that I would send a PM, but know that could be open to criticism):
Jane10 yes. A very early post of mine was met with blatant unkindness and derision and I was shocked at the time. I quickly saw, through reading other posts, that this was common. And I commented on how inappropriate I thought it was and got the 'How dare you 'Newbie' take us to task' treatment from a fair few people. I simply say what I see.
The original poster on this thread supported me at a time when I was feeling pretty down. Don't anyone DARE criticise her for starting this, or any, thread.
maryeliza548 This thread was started by a much loved poster simply to wish me a happy birthday. Out of the kindness of her very kind heart Go ahead. Find fault with that!
