Nothing worse than a sick husband, seriously though, neck pain is one of those really painful conditions which doesn't get sympathy, lots of remarks about being " a pain in the neck". As you can tell I have been there.

corner at least he has seen some sense- a good job you did not put him on a train to come to me to be looked after. I would have been short on sympathy.

soop I have the nagging hat on- please will you see the doctor tomorrow because the weekend is a long time if you develop a chest infection and need antibiotics. I do not want to hear that you have been remotely near an iron or I will be on the next train putting the fear of God or somebody into you! Please look after yourself.

I think DH and I are losing it! We had our usual walk through the woods this afternoon before the school bell and ended up playing a silly game of hiding behind trees and pelting each other with acorns!! ?‍♀️ I'm a rotten shot! He managed to make a couple count..... (grounds for divorce!).

Just popping in to reassure everyone Mr C is still with us. He now can't turn his head at all. Apparently I do have a point about the comforting properties of heat and tomorrows appointment with the physio is agreed to be a good idea. Now there's a change of heart . Florence Nightingale is being almost sympathetic. Hope grampy is also surviving Nanna and will soon be on the mend.

Pleased macs has seen a doctor soop and relieved you are caring for yourself. Your village is a truly supportive place to be.

Thank you grannyq, the grandchildren go to a school which is very focused on helping others, there will be an opportunity for the suggestion to be made I'm sure. Not so sure their Mum will appreciate overseeing the making of many small boxes .

The folk in the village have been passing on the news of Rory's death. We've had cards, visitors wishing to share a wee dram in his memory, sunflowers, carnations and coral coloured roses. Isn't it ironic. We were warned about his aggressive nature. He was not to be approached. And now he's become a village legend. Hats off to our lovely, bolshie, bossy, beautiful boy.

NanaandG We are both proper poorly. The chesty cough is far too noisy and persistent. MacSporran is the most vulnerable but insists that he's getting better and I am not to do anything other than rest.

Good morning dear Granspals. Before I settle down to play catch-up, I wish to add a very special thank you to N&G for the most beautifully created card which arrived today. It made us smile.

Ann . I have been known to use it once or twice but ONLY in front of fish!
I think you handled that conversation with Stevie admirably, as usual N&G. I once uttered the single word "bugger!" in front of GS when something had gone awry in the kitchen. He covered his mouth to stifle a giggle and said "Don't worry; I won't tell Grandad". Grandad has heard much worse from me (but not the F word) but I didn't tell him that! Now no doubt you will all think me unfit company and drum me out of the kitchen! ??

My friend's niece used the f word when she came home from school in her first few weeks aged 4/5.
When asked where she had learned it ( and told not to say it again) she informed her parents it just meant hello in Spanish.

I never heard my parents ever swear. I have never used the "f" word or worse and unlike Stevie, I do not even think it!!!

Well, I told you DS would eat the quiche before he got to the football ground! He was horrendously late - it takes him an hour and a quarter to get here - didn't even have time to give me a hello kiss; just shoved his briefcase into my hand and then they were off. I love you too, son! Couldn't find a parking place so they walked about half a mile at Light Infantry pace, only to find he had left his wallet with his season ticket in it in the case. ?‍♀️ After much pleading in the ticket office they let him in and found two people had taken their seats and had to be politely ousted (well, DH was being polite anyway!). When they came back and he had gone home, DH said "well, that was fun! That walk nearly killed me! He was much less trouble when he was little!" He says his legs hurt this morning so he is taking it easy. ?

In all innocence, I asked my poor mother what f***ing meant. She turned all colours of the rainbow and forbade me ever to let that word pass my lips. She did not tell me what it meant. Maybe she didn't know....
