Hello again.
Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and very good company.

I've also just eaten two large butterscotch and pretzel cookies for comfort. ??
So more guilt. I'm off to do some ironing (very rare event) to burn off the guilt.
Bloody Catholic upbringing!!!!!
?
Baggs if I had to cope with logistics like that, I wouldn’t dare step out of the door!!
N&G I laughed so hard at your post about your diet this morning that I spilled my coffee! I shall be sending you a laundry bill; but it did cheer me up! I think your plans for the house are very exciting. We kitcheners will have to make frequent trips to see the work in progress and make sure it meets with our approval! Better stock up the drinks cupboard!? Your garden sounds like ours when we moved into our last house, having left it empty for some time. To coin a phrase from Oklahoma “the grass was as high as an elephant’s eye”. DH went out and bought a double barrelled shotgun and a pith helmet, before borrowing a scythe from the bloke next door!
We had a really nice day on Saturday and then it all went down hill and I am struggling to get my mojo back, both physically and mentally. We haven’t seen GS since last Wednesday, having had to cancel their visit on Sunday, and it was a huge disappointment to me. I spoke to DD this morning and hopefully we have managed to cabbage some time from his social diary to see him on Wednesday ?. I should not complain, since some people don’t see their GC at all. DH is out in the garden massacring some rampant greenery, and I haven’t even got the heart to tell him he has cut down another of my favourite shrubs. Right, enough wallowing in self pity! Back to the ironing GD!
Luckily my cleaner came today because she discovered a slow leak in the cupboard under the sink and because it is packed with cleaning material I would not have noticed it any time soon until the slow drip had rotted shelving.
Plumbing co. no.1 wanted £120 an hour + VAT + money for materials if required. They would only "make safe". I thought not.
Company.no.2 charge £55 for half an hour but no VAT so I chose them.
I have no idea what has happened to my normal plumber who may have charged me a tenner. He has fallen off the face of this earth.
The prices here are unbelievable. I will need a lie down once the Morrisons man has delivered the groceries. I will put money on it that both will arrive at the same time.
Bags Loud chortles from Kintyre.
PS My Catholic Convent upbringing did me no favours. Guilt-ridden until the last breath I take!
Charleyg "Rip Off Britain" springs to mind. Have a lie down and compose yourself.
N&G Beware! Greyduster is compiling a list of a few dozen Kitcheners who wish to hire another charra' to drop in and liven up your day.
The atmosphere in the care home was a trifle gloomy. M said that she was feeling down in the dumps. I told her that I'd being through a wee spell of the doldrums. Before we knew it, just about resident agreed that they too were "out of sorts" B, one of the kindly carers remarked that, at 2:pm, the Halloween party would kick off. All the carers will be in costume. Sounds like a terrific way to lift the spirits.
Sounds like there’s a lot of it about Soop!
baggs I've got ironing to do this afternoon, so now I'm wondering what I should eat first so I too could burn of the guilt ???
I would like to join the Christmas lovers group too please. The more tinsel, lights and festivities the better ??☃️
Goodness baggs you did well to get home.
Love your enthusiasm n&g. Wonder what’s lurking in your grass? Sounds an exciting time.
I get that feeling when I need a grandchild fix greyd. Hope the plans work this time. Fitting with their commitments requires patience and perseverance. Hope tomorrow looks brighter
Remarked to our very young but very kind dentist this morning I was pleased he wasn’t dressed for Halloween. He grimaced. Said he’d been at an early party at the weekend where dressing as a dentist was deemed to be very scary indeed. Hard to laugh with the mouth full of metalwork.
Waiting for Mr C to have a hearing test. We’re having a ‘get it over with in one dsy’ Wondering for the umpteenth time why chairs in hospitals are so uncomfortable. Has to be a reason.
Take care everyone.
Well I have to tell you about my wonderful day out yesterday with my two escorts. I had booked them a few weeks ago.
The weather was lovely so we were able to see the sights in the town.
The escorts were really good and met me at the door with hugs and a gave me a drink before they took me into town in the Limo.
I tell you these two guys were drop dead gorgeous. Blond, blue eyed . One or other of them always held my hand when we were walking around the city centre showing me the sights.
Then they took me for a lovely dinner in the winter gardens and we walked around some more.
We returned to the limo for the journey back to the agency.
I do not wish to go into the details of what happened next .
Well we got back to the young men s house and they played in the garden on their bikes and let off steam, Eventually they were both sitting on lap while watching "Simon's cat" videos on my tablet.
I have discovered that the 2.5 yr old can find the videos himself but can't quite keep his hands from pressing the buttons. Big brother resorts to this when he is tired. He has just started at school. They are two funny noisy and clever little boys.
Two weeks ago when I went over the little one had been poorly all week with a temperature and just wanted his mummy but she was at work. All I could do was to cuddle him and try to keep him happy.
He was really miserable when I could not find any Peppa Pig videos on my tablet.
You really understand how poorly a little one has been when you later see them bouncing around and having enough energy to be "silly". I do rather being a grandmother.
Lovely nellie what a smashing day
Nellie Thank you for sharing your lovely experience with us lot.
corner Hospital patients aren't meant to enjoy lolling around in comfortable chairs. MacSporran has two such appointments this coming month. The bonus for me is...I get to blether with Baggs in a noisy canteen. It isn't until I have to get up from my seat that I realise I have a numb bum.
Bless you, Nellie what a perfect day that sounds! ?
corner if hospital chairs were comfortable you would be taking a book, coffee and sandwiches, using their facilities instead of your own. Think of the money on heating you would save!

It's feeling very gentle in the kitchen - well apart from Pith Helmets and Elephant's Eyes.
Hope you needed no treatment corner
Lovely day, Nellie.
Today would have been my Dad's 100th birthday so my brothers and their wives are coming here for supper - sausage casserole, mash and peas. I know how to push the boat out.
One of my brothers rang me this morning to say that he had gone to put flowers on Dad's grave and someone had stolen the headstone. He was quite upset and even my telling him that the stonemasons must have taken it away to add Mum's name etc didn't seem to make him feel better. He was very cut up when Mum died and had recently seemed to be coping better - I hope this isn't going to be a set back. I don't think I was very sympathetic as I was in Tesco looking for red candles. Oh dear!!
kitty Celebrating your Dad's life with a family supper sounds perfect, as does the menu. Have the stonemason's really taken the headstone away? I hope so. Nothing surprises me anymore. A sad fact of life.
I've completed the task of rootling through bedroom drawers and feel that I now know where every single item is. Good result. If only I could now find my specs! Have rummaged through the waste bin. Nowt there but rubbish. Hey ho!
Ironing duties tomorrow morning. I shall play catch up early afternoon.

The stonemasons have taken the headstone away soop and he knew that was happening. It was unfortunate that he went today and it was missing. He has always enjoyed a drama - in fact he does loads of amdram so I shouldn't have been surprised really.
Hope the supper went well kitty and your brother is calmer. Hospital turned out to be a positive experience. Mr C definitely needs new hearing aids although he denied his hearing was worse. The visit and resulting numb rear end has saved us both considerable grief
.
Sounds a wonderful day nellie. Seriously missing our Littlest who has very busy parents and sadly can’t yet drive himself.
Struggling to find sleep tonight. It will come, just not yet. Busy day tomorrow, oops today, decorating to finish, help a neighbour with her builders (we may need charley), visit another with a very poorly husband, two friends to phone. Should fill the day nicely
.
Will attach the headphones and listen to some music. Hopefully asleep soon. Night night everyone.
Sending much love to special people and a special cat.
corner it is obvious that you need to come here for a week to get some lessons in how to sleep. It is not often I am not up to the loo at least twice during the night but not last night- lights out at 12 mid night, the next I knew was my 4 legged alarm clock standing on me at 6.45am wanting me to get up.
I am not very sure how I managed to hold down a responsible job because my brain is obviously addled. The plumber I think worked that out by looking at me and asking my age.
As he was here, moneybags wanted to get her money's worth. To cut a long story short, I need a new set of basin taps in the bathroom. He asked me if I knew where to buy taps and to make sure I did not buy the monobloc ones. I had a fair idea I needed two, a hot and a cold and managed to do it within half an hour of him leaving. I suppose being female did not help. Hopefully he will fit them today or tomorrow. Maybe he thought that he was being helpful, I thought that he was patronising. I am obviously not fit for purpose at the age of 74.
Mania I haven’t seen you post on here before so welcome (if you have, and I have missed you, apologies!).
Charley bathroom fittings are a minefield waiting for the unwary. Do not be fooled into thinking a tap is just a tap! It has to be compatible with rate of flow, and all sorts of other mysterious plumbing technicalities! Similarly with radiators, and don’t get me started on cisterns! All this I was lectured on by our plumber. Last year we replaced the taps in our downstairs cloakroom. I bought two taps solely on the very technical grounds that they looked nice, had them fitted, jobs a good ‘un! Rate of flow? Schmo!
kitty I hope your sausage and mash supper went well and your father was fondly remembered on what would have been your father’s 100th. We were going to do something similar in 2004 when my dad would have been 100, but that year was our family Annus Horribilis and sadly it went by the board.
corner hope you finally got some sleep last night. ?
Greyduster I asked the plumber if a tap was a tap and he said that it was but he did tell me that there were three grades, cheap, medium priced and expensive. Mine has a 10 year guarantee, and like you I chose a pair that I liked. I could be living in a mansion if I had quallified as a female plumber I think. A bit late to train now because I cannot kneel and once on the floor cannot get up so I will bypass that fleeting thought.
I could be living in a mansion if I had quallified as a female plumber I think. Amen to that, Charley!
