Here it became dark early, around 3pm but the sky was a dark grey with a red sun, not the strange colours in other parts of London.

It is slightly windy, I do not think that we will get anything like the nasty weather forecast for the north of Scotland. NI are having a very rough time of it.

At least Tara came home early which pleased me.

Soop, do take care on the way to Campbeltown, there`s a bit of that road that I wouldn`t like to be on in very high winds, the bit that goes uphill and round a tight bend, just before the road goes across country to Campbeltown.
Our yellow sky has gone now, it`s a pale greyish blue now, with some wispy pink clouds. Still very windy.

Storm on the brink of breaking here in Kintyre. Should we lose power, I hope that it can be restored soonish. The last time the storm played havoc with the power lines we were out of action for a week. Take care of yourselves.

My sister posted a photo of the sky in Essex at approx 3pm (see attached). Very strange. We are due to fly back to UK tomorrow from Portugal, hopefully will avoid this awful storm.

Anno, when we had our bathroom done again from scratch, it was our only bathroom, therefore the only toilet. The poor plumber had to keep stopping for us to go for a wee!

whitewave and Crafting Two types of wind hereabouts. Outside there is turbulence brewing. Inside...ditto! Gastric problems getting steadily worse. Most embarrassing when in polite company Right now, if I had one wish (apart from wanting MacSporran to be hale and hearty for the rest of his life), I wouldn't know where to start. The backend prolapse gets more difficult to manage as each day passes. The frontend prolapse makes me feel as if I continually need to dash to the bathroom for an urgent wee...only nothing much happens unless I do a standing wee. That can be tricky at times. Lateral curvature of the spine interferes with my ability to stand upright. Two hip replacements have helped enormously. But...and there is a big but...what was my stronger leg now hurts a lot because the knee is wearing out. Am using my stick around the house. We've split-level flooring and using the three steps from one floor to the other makes my eyes water with discomfort. None of this is life threatening. Many people would happily swap their buggerations for mine. Thanks for letting me offload. I shall not discuss the matter again until I need to . Thank you for being supportive.

annsixty your daughter's pets sound lovely! I know what you mean about being more concerned about them than herself - I was seriously injured last year in an accident just after returning home from the vet with my very ill cat, and as I lay in the road, he was all I was concerned about with the person helping me..

ann A 45 minute appointment is fair. You will not feel that you need to get a move on...as I do when in for a fifteen minute slot. This is the perfect opportunity for you to tell it as it is. We've still to have our flu jabs (jags in Scotland). MacSporran hasn't fully recovered from the lurgie.

What a lovely treat soop ,a great meet up with friends and a night in a hotel. It will do you both a power of good and maybe some Christmas shopping done as well.
I can't put my feet up yet as we have an appointment at the surgery for H.
This will be the first time he will have been seen since his diagnosis 4 years ago.
It will be interesting to see what happens as we have been told it will take 45 minutes.
We are then having our flu jabs.

Wish I could be with you there soop, but I'm off to see family quite soon and am very chary about station platforms after my accident on the local one!

I'm feeling over the moon. Why? Because I shall be attending the Edinburgh meet-up. MacSporran will travel with me. (Need a porter!) He'll do sightseeing. I shall blether umpteen to the dozen. We shall stay overnight in a nice hotel as a belated birthday treat for him.

ann I winced when I read about what had happened to your daughter and one of her cats. A cat attack can be a very bruising event. The cat will have been stressed and was defending itself as only it knew how. No consolation, I know. These things happen and thankfully, your daughter is receiving tip top treatment for her injury. You will have spent a restless night. If you can, feet up, and try to relax.

Greyduster If you sense that the time has come for an airing of 'home truths', go ahead. Sometimes it does everyone good to get worrisome stuff out in the open. Remember to keep your cool.

I popped over to see my DD today as she left her bag at ours yesterday and sounded a bit down in the dumps this morning. GS’s behaviour has been a bit challenging recently and is leaving her feeling a bit drained. I think it is time The Boy and I had a home truths session, at the first opportunity. I shall be preparing my ground!

Humptydumpty she certainly is an animal lover, 3 cats and a young dog.
She has worried more about them than herself.
The dog has gone to day care!!! and she has rung them and been assured he is absolutely fine and is playing with a cockerpoo named Ruby.
Her friend will pick him up at 6.30 and keep him until she gets home.
It is very windy here and the sky is a very odd colour, almost yellow, it doesn't bode well.

I have been very lax in not admiring your super new bathroom Greyduster it was obviously worth the hassle and the wait.
Had a long conversation now with D she has seen the team and they are happy she won't need a GA to clean it all out and the tendons are not damaged as she can bend her finger slightly today.
If all goes well ,she will be allowed home tonight after she has had 24 hours of AB'S.

This will be about 9pm but she has promised them she will go straight back if there are any problems and she is to go back tomorrow anyway.

Yet another small crisis over, we are certainly kept on our toes.

annsixty so sorry to hear of your problem, but please don't describe the ca as a 'bad, bad cat' - it was only doing what comes naturally, and I'm sure your DD, ill though she is, would not think of the cat like that, as she is obviously an animal lover
