I have had problems with GN today and for once it was zilch to do with them. Yahoo in their wisdom decided to have a massive update and I discovered the most recent bit of GN I had access to was in 2013 when I first joined. Hopefully I have sorted my side out now. It was fine as it was.

It’s not “bottle business” Galen he has a catheter for that and honestly the ensuite is only 5 more steps than a commode might be.
As well as “assisting” I make sure he doesn't trip over the tube to the night bag.
Why is he going to the loo every 2 hours?
Well maybe the fact that MKH in their infinite wisdom elected to cut his Mesalazine (Ulcerative Colitis drug) by 2/3 without explanation might have something to do with it.
Frustrated by the GP’s slowness at querying this or getting an explanation, I emailed the Royal Free and one of the IBD team rang me back today, horrified at the dose which is next to useless and in their opinion either a clerical or (more seriously) medical error and have reinstated his original dose. It won’t kick in immediately of course but eventually we should see an improvement

Hopefully that should do the trick.

Why oh why oh why do the IR change my tax codes halfway through the year, leaving me £500 a month worse off? I reckoned the original ones were correct and my accountant agreed!???

Two of my GC are flying 3000 miles away today to stay with their father for two weeks, the weather should be tropical, hope they don't encounter hurricanes though.
My H's memory span is now bordering on zilch but the good news is my reclining chair is assembled and I am so pleased I didn't act in haste because I love it.

I am not too sure what to say about H's memory. I ma aware that his mobility is not affected in the slightest. Can he do anything to help you?

It is a beautiful day here although a tad cold. I am washing the last of my curtains and with luck they will be dry and winging their way to a charity shop tomorrow to give me more space.

I am still on the look out for a tiler so if anybody's partner would like a cosy bedshare with a cat, this is the house.

Madam ambled home at 10pm last night but luckily for her did not waken me at some ungodly hour.

Crafting, doesn't it hurt! We so wish our children and grandchildren didn't have to be hurt ever. DGS1 just put himself forward for house captain and didn't get it. There were 16 to be elected (sort of prefects, I think) and 4 of his friends were elected. He is devastated - it's difficult to know what to do to help isn't it?

I hope poorly people are feeling better and everyone who needed it got a good night's sleep. I did - after DH gave up tossing and turning and went in the spare room!!

I had a 'day off' yesterday because I'd managed to 'find' a key short-cut which turned my screen black and the print white. I spent hours trying to get it back to normal and - about midnight - managed to find a 'help' site that gave me the short-cut to clear it up. I must admit that in the afternoon I went upstairs, decided to have a lie-down with a book and the next thing I knew the clock said 18.10 as did my watch and my tablet. Which is why I wasn't comatose at midnight!
Splendid to hear that your house move is on, N&G. Get as much help as you can. It's 17 years today since I moved into this house and it was traumatic. I foolishly thought I could do everything myself. I'd finished the packing and the removal van was at the gate when the estate agent rang up to tell me that the buyers has asked for the hall, stairs and landing carpets to be taken up. I suppose, with hindsight, I should have told them to do it themselves as they hadn't mentioned it in the six weeks since they committed to the purchase, but I was vulnerable that day and phoned a friend who came round and helped me to remove the carpet which put up a strong resistance! I then told my family that if I ever moved again I would be in one of the boxes. Now I'm not so sure...

anno Bloody cheek! The new owners of your previous home might have been courteous enough to overlook the final request for carpets to be removed. Surely they understood that you would be stressed enough without having to pander to their last minute faffings. I would have seen red.

Maw I feel your frustration and dismay. Put your recent experiences in writing and share with whatever body deals with such complaints.
Not that doing so did me a scrap of good when I was attempting to get to the bottom of my on going problems. I've since given up. I shall manage my double drop-bot for the rest of my days. Notes on a £5000 surgical procedure in a private hospital in 2003 appear to have vanished into the ether. Ten days spent in hospital. The lady surgeon who carried out the op' is still with the hospital. Zilch response to all my and GP's requests for detailed account (in order that the problem may be fixed) by another surgeon. All very tiresome. All to no avail.

Apologies for poor me outburst. There are many more dire situations being dealt with by you lot. I'm ashamed of myself.

We visited the care home. Three quarters of the residents are poorly with that dratted cough. M has so many cold sores, she found it difficult to speak.

Don't apologise soop!! You are so supportive of all of us that you are entitled to a moan and some support from us. I really feel for you - it must be awful. None of us has any option but to soldier on do we? You are an example to us all!

Hello kitty and everyone - had a lot on just recently so although I have kept an eye on the "doings" in the kitchen, it has just been a watching brief.

So glad your house move is now going ahead N&G - hope there are no last minute hitches. Also envious of your new slim line look! Well done on both scores!

Maw - you do not have an easy furrow to plough we know but you keep showing us your strength and determination, love and loyalty. I have huge respect for you and hope that there are better days ahead.

Ann the same applies to you. I am in awe of you both and I am really glad you got your new chair! Hope you get chance to have a nice long rest in it occasionally!

soop - I think you are amazing! Just hope that both of you are soon well and truly rid of the latest lurgy and on the path to recovery. Do you still catch sight of your furry friend out of the corner of your eye? I still do that sometimes and it is always a disappointment when there is no little cat there after all. Rory will always be part of the kitchen clan.

Lovely pendant galen, enjoy wearing it. Both our sons are having similar problems with income tax, I dont pay tax, or shouldnt, but my on line account says I will owe them money at the end of the tax year. When I can summon both energy and patience I will phone. Not today though.

I do understand that feeling crafting, have had to keep very quiet at times picking up our two from school when one of their 'friends' has been in bully mode. The distress was hard to be with. Some of it very recent when they have been under pressure and of course the 'friend' knew. Horrible.

Oh soop, of course you mustn't pretend you are feeling fine when you are far from it. The resident bug will be making you much less resilient and you know it's perfectly reasonable to expect a professional to reply to the queries, you are entitled to access to information about you. I get cross on your behalf just thinking about it. kitty is exactly right, please don't apologise.

So pleased you love your chair ann? Good decision. Don't know what to say about your husband's deterioration other than please do seek support. You've managed so well until now but perhaps it's time to think about external help.

Why oh why do hospitals mess patients about maw? I will never understand. Thank goodness your husband has you to fight his corner. I know it's something else to take time but I do think soop is right and formal feedback is needed, if for no other reason than to make sure it can't happen again.

We've just worked out that between last Monday and Thursday of next week we will have been to our local hospital five times between us plus one GP visit and two private physio appointments. It sort of explains why nothing else is getting done . Not really complaining as all appointments have been helpful, it does seem ott though.

We can match your sunshine today charley, had a lovely walk on the beach after today's hospital appointment which was early enough to allow us to have breakfast out afterwards. Maybe all these appointments aren't so bad after all .

Younger son is 40 tomorrow, off for some low key family celebrations and looking forward to it. It does make me feel old though .

Gaga We miss our Rory for many reasons. Coming home and not having him greet us and take us to his cupboard for his food is awful. To have a fire and no Rory lolling on the mat is awful. To have tea in bed and not have him sitting on MacS's knee and purring loudly is awful. All pet owners know that the missing friend is constantly on one's mind. We look out at his chalet. No Rory! We look at the garden bench. No Rory. We look at the chaise...no Rory. He has a left a mighty big gap in our lives.

It's time for me to log off and wish you all a peaceful and pleasant start to the weekend.

I like the nasturtiums as flowers to look at and I have found my self picking and eating the flowers.

They really good to eat and have rather tasty very slightly peppery flavour.
Not just for posh restaurants when you can easily grow your own.
