Saw this sign in a cafe toilet today and thought it might amuse.

I think the council were feeling pleased with themselves as digging up Richard brought lots of tourist revenue to the city. If you google it there are loads of photos of the notice on line.

??? Unusual for a council to have a sense of humour

In a city centre car park of my home town of Leicester the official council Pay and Display notice states "No burying of dead monarchs".

And I think I have posted before about the tiny weeny notice stuck on the glass of a revolving door which said:

"By the time you have worked out what this notice says, you will have made a complete idiot of yourself going round and round in this revolving door!"

Now, if only every dept store had one of those, Greyduster how useful, if expensive, would that be??

Spotted in a pub in North Yorkshire:

Husband Day Care Centre
Need time to relax? Want to go shopping?
Free Creche!
Leave him here....
Just pay his drinks bill when you pick him up!

I think I saw a similar sign to the goldfish one in a toilet on a train once. Most probably the Stansted Express.

smile glad it amused you, callgirl.

callgirl1 Tue 19-Sept-17 17:49:21

MissA, that`s going to keep me in giggles the rest of the day, love it!

MissAdventure Tue 19-Sept-17 16:14:18

I saw a whole fish in the supermarket, complete with eyes, and a surprised looking face. The sign on the pack said "This fish is gutted'. I bet it was!

Tizliz Tue 19-Sept-17 16:08:16

Love this one

A butterfly for each life saved would have been a whole lot nicer!

lemongrove Tue 19-Sept-17 15:08:59

??

Nonnie Tue 19-Sept-17 15:07:53

lemon there were, a whole wall. I can't have been the only person who thought is was in poor taste.

Those poor cats!

lemongrove Tue 19-Sept-17 14:49:06

nonnie I hope there weren't a lot of butterflies??

lemongrove Tue 19-Sept-17 14:48:12

?all good ones.
How about
Cats eyes removed

Nonnie Tue 19-Sept-17 14:31:32

Not so amusing was the wall in Epsom hospital which said each butterfly there represented someone who had died in their care!

They also had a sign on the rubbish bin telling you to put rubbish in it which seemed a bit pointless. Maybe put that in places where there was no bin?

Imperfect27 Tue 19-Sept-17 14:25:52

Thanks for all the laughs grin

When visiting us some Canadians found the road sign for elderly people hilarious.

NanaMacGeek Tue 19-Sept-17 13:25:16

My favourite road signs around here are:-

BLIND SUMMIT
HIDDEN DIPS
HEAVY PLANT CROSSING
EGGS DRIVE IN
and
SLOW DOWN HORSES (lassoes apparently not provided).

Also in the hospital toilet (and stating that 'This sign belongs to Urology')
WET FLOOR

midgey Tue 19-Sept-17 13:11:42

Used to see one in Leeds that said Please park tidy. Never found out who /what tidy was!

A car park in the town has a set of public toilets which says:

GENTLEMEN
PAY AND DISPLAY

It always makes me smile. smile

I do like that one Greyduster mainly because it is true.
