Yes he buys the rubbish himself, didn't tell me about the sticky sweets in his pockets. As I'm cooking dinner he comed in the kitchen for another can of beer from the fridge. Can he not see his beer belly? If we go for a meal he has a couple of pints, then a bottle of wine. So I don't want to do that, as I don't drink, can't bear the smell.

mrsmopp, I'm like you, cook from scratch, healthy meals, lots of fruit and veg. We go out walking with our granddaughter in pram, despite the weather, then he spoils it all by piling food on his plate and drinking beer. I'm worried he will have a heart attack.
I have tried everything, but he won't listen. The more I nag, the more he ignores me, so I too have stopped.

Does he buy his own food treats? To be honest there is very little you can do if he does not listen.

My aspergers OH does not listen to food advice and is putting on a lot of weight. He has huge portion sizes of cereal but ignores any comments about sensible diet.
For me to comment it is almost like a challenge to do the opposite. So I have stopped trying. I might just keep my sanity that way.
Fortunately he stopped drinking any alcohol after he had surgery for a benign brain tumour, but then he didn't really drink much before.

I love him to bits ans we are very happy, but he's not looking after his health. We need to take more care as we get older, right? Well, I do my best, home made food cooked from scratch, healthy stuff, moderate exercise etc. I've kept my weight down, but DH is pilng it on, so his belt goes under his tummy instead of round his waist. You get the idea. I don't want to nag, but he can't see what he's doing. The fridge is full of cans of beer, he eats biscuits by the box, bags of sticky sweets in his pockets. If I breathe a word he says he'd not as fat as Joe Bloggs from up the road. So that's all right then? How do I handle this effectively?
