Suggestions needed for 90th birthday present. Help!

What about a 'This is your life ' book? Photobox (and I expect others) will make up a book using photos, prints, poems, Certificates etc. that you copy and send to them on line. They also do Calendars using your own photos. At our Golden Wedding we were presented with a framed enlarged print of our Marriage Certificate. You could do the same with his Birth Certificate. We also received a CD showreel of pictures from our baby ones right up to us with the Grandchildren, backed by some of our favourite music - I play it often when in need of cheering up.

We have just celebrated my DM's 90th birthday, big family lunch on Sunday and 'proper' Devon cream tea on her actual birthday. She was adamant she wanted no more 'stuff', was fed up of chocolates, no more handkerchiefs please. Eventually we decided to dedicate a tree for her at the National Arboretum in Alrewas-- she was thrilled with idea

Someone I knew compiled a family tree with names & a thumbprint for leaves of the tree then framed it.

Studio portrait, or maybe a painting or print of a favourite spot of his?

Or he may like to be taken to lunch, dinner, a film,or a concert, as much for the company as anything. You could leave it for a wee while after the festive season, when he might be feeling a bit flat.

And if you have the time a memory book with comments from members of the family and friends. It would make great reading and something to treasure.

Theatre vouchers
A really fine bottle of something
Special edition collection CD of something to his music tastes
A biography of someone he has really admired

I know this is always suggested but it is still worth repeating. A studio portrait of the family or at least the Gc/Ggc.
It is something I would treasure.
