Oh phoenix don't give up please. If I look down the list of threads and see something a bit different or funny I usually think that'll be phoenix then. I'm not usually wrong. I love your posts and we need your sense of humour. GN would be a much more boring place without your input compliments galore, please send cheque in post as agreed grin

Sorry Riverwalk I don't do the games myself, but was trying to include as many members as possible! blush

Phoenix
Please don't stop. Your one of those, I would say, gifted people who when they write something funny, it really is.
You have a way with words that makes it so real.
I'm crap at words so the words in my head don't come out on paper. Now if this was verbal, I'm brilliant.

Yep keep posting Phoenix
I enjoy your posts catastrophes and your hair raising adventures

seacliff Tue 12-Sept-17 19:50:57

I love your cat stories Phoenix, and the curse!

Riverwalk Tue 12-Sept-17 19:50:18

You lost my support Phoenix by including 'Games' in your list!

They should be banished from the 'Discussions' page ... rant over.

Auntieflo fortunately I have managed to avoid falling in wheelie bins after that unfortunate incident, although alas life is not entirely incident free, nearly had a dunking in the lake yesterday when I misjudged the equation that I was never taught at school, i.e the one that relates to the optimum position for stick throwing, in relation to the slipperiness and lack of traction on the bank!

Thanks to both you and Chewbacca for your kind comments! grin

loopyloo Tue 12-Sept-17 19:38:43

I agree let's have some fun.! Tell us about the cats!

Auntieflo Tue 12-Sept-17 19:21:43

Phoenix, you usually brighten up my day, if not everyone's. Keep on posting and making me smile. I love to hear of you doings, falling in wheelie bins, about the cats etc. Why the h..l can't we post a lighthearted thought to brighten the day? If someone's having a bad day, we usually commiserate, but it's not fair to put a big downer on a lighthearted theme, and turn it sour. Is it? I will disappear now and sort out the dishes.

trisher Tue 12-Sept-17 19:05:48

I agree, nice to be able to laugh sometimes and nothing matter with a rant occasionally.
But be careful phoenix the powers that be might think this is a thread about threads and delete everything!! grin

Chewbacca Tue 12-Sept-17 18:57:23

Please don't be put off phoenix , you're posts are always a joy to read and always make me smile. There will always be a miserable bugger out there, just waiting to put a sour note of misery to spoil any fun. We just have to be glad we don't wake up next to them in a morning and have to suffer their company for the rest of the day! grin could be wrong, often am?

MissAdventure Tue 12-Sept-17 18:52:16

Sounds fair enough to me! People can choose not to read what doesn't interest them, is my take on things.

phoenix Tue 12-Sept-17 18:46:17

All types of threads, all types of posters (well, maybe not quite all, bugger off go away if you want to talk about Vans versus Shoe Zone or Onesies)

Lighthearted
Asking for help/good wishes/support
Having a moan when it all gets too much
Having a moan over something minor, even!
Sharing good news
Sharing bad news (see above, re help & support)
Games
Politics (but keep it under control, please)
Gardening
Etc etc etc.

If you have a look at the list of forums/thread topics, there are LOADS, should be something to suit everyone, surely?

I don't knit or sew, pretty hopeless at craft stuff (although I will be attempting some homemade C word decorations this year) so I don't usually look at those threads.

My general style (although I don't post as much as I used to) is along the lines of light hearted observational stuff, sometimes about falling in wheelie bins blush sometimes about the daft doings of my cats. Yes, I would generally put those under the "Pets" heading, if you don't like pets, then don't read.

A couple of minor events in my life lately have had me almost approaching the keyboard, with the intention of posting something that might be found amusing by some, but I have resisted the temptation. Bit sad, really.
