New Denture today......strugglin g....

I just rinse my partial denture under the tap and the into the 3 minute cleanser, I put my toothbrush in also. Also use Cordasyl (sp) Daily Use mouthwash.

Takes a few days, you'll be talking ok in no time.

Dentist told me to take it out at night !! Don't think so !!

My dentist put fixodent on my denture when he fitted it, it does stop the whistly s's, I too had to wear mine for 24 hours before I could remove it to gargle and clean the denture. I found the first 24 hours the worst, I found taking little sips of water helped to make my mouth feel more pleasant. It will get much easier over the next few days. Clean with a brush and soak in steradent every day. Soup is the best thing to eat for a day or two. Good luck, you'll be fine!

Ah, I suppose it might be. Do you mean too abrasive for the dentures or your teeth?

Thanks for the help - I was told to leave for 24 hours and yes it's an immediate denture. I paid privately so hoping it will last

Also meant to say, you can clean the denture with a toothbrush and toothpaste.
I know I found it all very traumatic, so I understand, as I'm sure everyone does.

You need to clean your own teeth very gently, specially around the raw areas.
Are you going to take the denture out tonight?

It's day one of course you are struggling be assured it will quickly get easier. Was this an immediate denture put in right after extraction?
I had mine removed in stages but a full denture after the last few were extracted I ate very soft foods for nearly a week as my mouth was so tender taking the denture out now and then for short breaks but always kept them in most of the time.
To clean I brush with liquid soap and water and then a quick soak in steradent and a scrub with denture brush .

Things will get better I promise
