New Royal Baby

Yeh well we all know who'll be first in the bunker!

How can anyone be so mean spirited not to wish them well. I think it's lovely news especially with the spectre of Nuclear war hovering over the world.

My daughter-in-law has four children and she had them 'cos she loves kids. I think she would be insulted to be labelled a 'brood mare.'

If you can have and afford kids, why not?

Several posts mention The Beckhams, Jamie Oliver etc. Just a thought but, they are surely self supporting, not working minimal hours but completely state supported. Each child is assured of a guaranteed income for life. Nice work if you can get it!!

Surprised she's done it again with the MG but in other ways it's so much easier for them to have more kids, no money worries, a nanny and can give up the day job without damaging her career. Ok for the over-privileged...

If I'd had their advantages I'd have had half a dozen children. I was accused of irresponsibility for having four and always replied that my children would be an asset to the world.
Fewer children being born means fewer carers for our old age, fewer tax payers etc.
Why the heck is it called "morning sickness"? If you have it badly it's 24 hours a day sickness, sometimes for the entire pregnancy.
I wonder what the royals do all day, with no jobs and full time nannies?

i was very pleased to hear the news. it's surely up to them how many children they have.
i'm sure she realises that there is a risk that she will suffer badly with sickness but, if she's willing to put up with it, it's not for us to criticise.
royal or not they are perfectly entitled to have as many children as they want.

He is Conservative MP for Devon area farmgran..Must be something in the water/air down there, he has 6 children with names that are different from the norm. Not sure how he got into the conversation though.

I wish them well, it's their business if they choose to have more children ....... just hope Kate does,nt suffer too much again with the severe morning sickness ....I know how she must feel having had this with my own pregnancies.

Do we forget that this isn't an average couple, she will have everything to help her at this'difficult' time in the pregnancy.
There are possibly a lot ladies going exactly the same symptoms without expert medical care.
My sympathy is with them.

I'm not a royalist by any stretch of imagination but what on earth is the matter with anybody having three or more children if they can afford it? Have we really degenerated into a society where there's a regulation two children to each household? In economic terms the UK needs a bigger younger population to sustain the older one (I'm one of the oldies by the way). At the same time, I don't believe anybody should have kids they can't afford to look after. As far as I'm concerned 'brood mare' should be reserved for the woman who has one child after another while expecting the state to house her and them, and to provide benefits. In the case of Kate, through personal wealth she can afford three children and probably more. Obviously there are legitimate arguments about who pays William but the principal remains - if parents can afford to look after six children, it's their business whether they have them or not.

Oh come on, peeps, (sorry, too much time with the grandchildren)' let's just be glad for them. They don't bother me and I don't bother them - I'm just so relieved we haven't got a Trump as Head of State ......

Come on suttonJ, it's not abnormal to be interested in celebrity news. And frankly that's the way most of us regard the royals, as a sort of Reality Show celeb.

Yawn. Surely there are more important things to think about, rather than the rights and wrongs of a vastly over-privileged couple having a third baby.

Are people jealous of the royals ?

I most certaintly am not. Annoyed by the number of properties we have to pay the security for. Annoyed at the number of homes they have which are not their own properties. This is not jelousy .

I was filled with a gentle and warm sense of bonhomie when I heard the news yesterday. Good for them. Take my hat off to Kate when I hear that a repitition of her acute sickness is highly likely to be repeated. Took me nearly five years to build up the courage after a difficult birth. Thank goodness she has masses of help to hand. Wish that had been me....... medical faux pas in my case.

Is three children a large family? I'm surprised at that. I stayed with a French family as a teenager and they had 6 children and qualified as a 'famille nombreuse' , qualifying for cheaper metro travel, but I just looked it up and in France too they identify three children plus as 'nombreuse'. I was one of five and would have loved more than the three I was blessed with.
As for William and Kate, given all the help they have available, why not.

We'll I'm excited by the news, and wish them well. Think Kate is v. brave to go through another pregnancy when she suffers so badly with the morning sickness for so long. My dil was as ill (if not worse) last year....and I do sympathise with that one. I had 3 children - perfect number I'd say! Lucky Queen having all those great grandchildren.

I didn't have HG with mine, but ordinary morning sickness, with no respect to time of day. I remember how foul that was. Best. Of luck to them all!

She is very brave to go through the sickness again. It is horrendous , worse than the birth!
Good luck to them all , shame so many people are jealous of the royals .
