Words you don't like, please, ladies?

What's wrong with "hello" EEJit?

It seems a few women don't like anything much, EEJit!
glad you didn't feel excluded by the title of the thread.

Grumpy old man here. It seems quite a number of you don't like "ladies", so what should I say to a group of you , "Hello women"?

I came across some "panty slips" in a charity shop a while back.
The woman working there sidled up and told me what they were, out of the corner of her mouth..

My pet hate are PC terms like "individual" which the Police and newscasters use frequently - we are people!

'So' used at the beginning of an answer when people are being interviewed on tv or radio.

Yes, agree with 'panties' - nobody I know has ever used that word. Sounds so coy and twee.
And what about 'slips' - used by M&S for a certain type of men's underpants? Has anyone's Dh EVER said, 'Oh, I haven't got any clean slips,' or 'My slips are getting a bit holey- time to buy some more.' ?
Once upon a time a slip was a sort of petticoat - does anyone still wear that sort of slip under a dress?

I do say 'kids' but hate 'grandkids', which is utterly illogical, I know.
One word that really winds me up lately is REEsearch.
It's reSEARCH fgs!

I think its a horrible word, particularly when children use it. Its uncouth, I think. My daughter makes my grandsons say "pop", which sounds a bit silly considering the oldest is 6ft 3 with the beginnings of a beard!

I really don't like the word "fart" - when I hear it said I always imagine an awful smell - yuk!

Long story short - My better half - I could kill myself - If only you knew..... all these annoy me !

'Flesh' ugh makes my skin crawl.

I haven't read every message here so apologies if I am repeating someone else but really 'gobsmacked' and 'gutted' purlease stop these ugly words!!!!!

But also the phrase 'to die for' - would you really give up your life for a cake/lipstick/kitchen cupboard? Annoying!

Misadventure I'm not sure you can just ask a question of the ladies.

We are trying to encourage the men to join and participate not exclude them.

There is only one, and it is "tummy". I can't use it, not even to children.

Men can do whatever they like, Kitty, as I'm sure they will.

How would you address a whole group of other women you know.
A mixed group can be referred to as "Ladies and Gentlemen"
"Ladies" has been considered as a social class ridden anachroism.
"Girls" is disapproved of as infantalising women.
A few people with over zealous ideas about political correctness have made this difficult .

"Women" sounds really odd and clumsy .

I don't like 'babe' or especially 'babes' when used by another woman to me. It sounds like a veiled insult, I think. I can tolerate it from a male.
