Words you don't like, please, ladies?

I quite like the word ladies. Gentlemen too. What an old-fashioned girl I am.

Phlegm now, MissAdventure, that really does make my skin crawl. A globule of phlegm sizzling on the fire - eugh.

Men can do whatever they like, Kitty, as I'm sure they will.

There is only one, and it is "tummy". I can't use it, not even to children.

Sometimes both, Alima but mostly the word.

Misadventure I'm not sure you can just ask a question of the ladies.

We are trying to encourage the men to join and participate not exclude them.

But also the phrase 'to die for' - would you really give up your life for a cake/lipstick/kitchen cupboard? Annoying!

I really don't like the word "fart" - when I hear it said I always imagine an awful smell - yuk!

I think its a horrible word, particularly when children use it. Its uncouth, I think. My daughter makes my grandsons say "pop", which sounds a bit silly considering the oldest is 6ft 3 with the beginnings of a beard!

Yes, agree with 'panties' - nobody I know has ever used that word. Sounds so coy and twee.
And what about 'slips' - used by M&S for a certain type of men's underpants? Has anyone's Dh EVER said, 'Oh, I haven't got any clean slips,' or 'My slips are getting a bit holey- time to buy some more.' ?
Once upon a time a slip was a sort of petticoat - does anyone still wear that sort of slip under a dress?

I do say 'kids' but hate 'grandkids', which is utterly illogical, I know.

My pet hate are PC terms like "individual" which the Police and newscasters use frequently - we are people!

I would like to see a revival of the words cunt and gay. The former was an Elizabethan word which wasn't offensive, it was a collective term for several genital parts, of which women have several! I used to love the term gay as it described a joie de vivre but has now been taken over, sadly.

I have come across a male who describes having a drink of beer, as having a couple of scoops! I find that really irritating!
