...what " things" would you spend lots of money on?
I'd probably spend on travel and food, but can't think of " stuff" I'd like.
I have friends who spend on handbags, shoes, jewellery, books, and cosmetics, but none of these appeal to me.
What's your weakness?

Plus two for Nerja, Glammy. Love it!

Nanabilly Mon 07-Aug-17 17:20:25

Is Nerja the place up the mountains in mainland Spain . We stayed in Benalmadena one year and went to it for a day if it's the place I'm thinking of , very pretty and has a bullring . Plenty of white houses dotted down the mountainsides.
As for money ,we would have a custom built 60feet long narrowboat and some one handy at every set of locks to help us take it through.

Petra, the plane sounds good , trouble is my daughter lives in Sydney. How many stops for refuelling do you think we'd need?
I suppose if we could stay in top class hotels on the way we could cope?☺️

A chauffeur would be nice . I would like room for a swimming pool at home. I would like to buy my dd&ds a family home .

Alima Mon 07-Aug-17 18:47:05

I don't want any stuff but would love to be able to employ a cook and a chauffeur.

petra Mon 07-Aug-17 18:58:00

Ailma
I've got one ( cook and chauffeur combined) I've had him for 37 years [grin)

petra Mon 07-Aug-17 18:58:59

pamela
Will check it out.

Auntieflo Mon 07-Aug-17 19:17:42

Just enough to have lie flat beds on an aircraft to anywhere, so that my ankles don't swell so much. Or wouldn't that work?

petra Mon 07-Aug-17 19:20:29

pamela
We are good to go. I've checked the range on the one I want and we would only need one refuel. I suggest Shanghai, fabulous city.

Nerja is on the coast. You maybe thinking of Frigliana, both beautiful places and get my vote as well.

rosesarered Mon 07-Aug-17 19:54:50

Nerja is right on the seafront, a lovely place, we have stayed there twice in the recent past.Feels very friendly and safe, with a lovely old part of town, and lots of little places to eat out or sit and have coffee and people watch.

rosesarered Mon 07-Aug-17 19:56:54

If I had a serious amount of money, I would like holiday homes in Devon, Spain, and Switzerland and divide time between them.

rosesarered Mon 07-Aug-17 19:58:07

Otherwise, ( a bit more money, rather than a lot) a cleaner and a gardener would be nice.

Jalima1108 Mon 07-Aug-17 19:59:22

Could it be Mijas?
Or Ronda (spectacular gorge)

Jalima1108 Mon 07-Aug-17 20:05:39

I think the latest Gulfstream can fly non-stop for 7,000 nautical miles pamela, so one refuelling.
You could stop off wherever there are the best shops and hotels. It can take several passengers so plenty of room for your staff.

I'll let you know how comfortable it is in a couple of weeks!

Pittcity Mon 07-Aug-17 20:07:16

I'd love a chauffeur too.
Cook, cleaner, laundry person.
Then travel in style.

FarNorth Mon 07-Aug-17 20:29:21

A professional declutterer, who wouldn't just chuck stuff but help me with it.
A full redecoration of the house along with new kitchen and bathroom.
New homes for DS and DD.
2nd home for me, close to them.
Unlimited travel and accommodation, anywhere on the planet I want to go, for me and any friend(s) I want to take.
Unlimited activities eg theatre visits, skydiving, whatever crops up while I'm doing all that travelling.

Thanks for the opportunity, Daddima.

I'd love a Bentley Coupe but I know that even if money was no object I'd not be able to allow myself to spent £250K. So I'll make do with a good hybrid. I'd also have our 2000 van, Violet, thoroughly brought up to scratch. I don't want a new van but I want Violet to be as good as new.

I would like one of the houses between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness with enormous windows overlooking the seaa and with a balcony for the same purpose! and a cleaner to keep it ready, with fresh sheets daily.

Ilovecheese Mon 07-Aug-17 21:20:15

Hand made shoes

Maggiemaybe Mon 07-Aug-17 21:32:54

I wouldn't ask for much. Just first-class travel everywhere and a full-time chauffeur. And an interior designer and team to sort out the house. I don't need any input at all, as long as I don't get Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen.

MamaCaz Mon 07-Aug-17 21:36:30

A house big enough for us to have our two sons, their wives, our two grandchildren and my parents (10 of us in total) here all at the same time, without half of us having to sit outside in the back yard!

GillT57 Mon 07-Aug-17 21:56:44

Can I be your neighbour kittylester?.my favourite place. Given unlimited funds I would have a house in Spain with views of the sea my house next to kittylester and a house in the highlands. All would be looked after by an invisible but well rewarded staff and there would be a well stocked fridge and crisp clean bed linen whenever I arrived. Private and fast direct flights with no queues at airports. Someone to organise my wardrobe and sort out what suits me and then buy it. Buy houses for DD and DS and pay for their travel to enjoy my homes and (hopefully) visit me at the same time.

Peep Mon 07-Aug-17 22:45:11

Hand made shoes and hand made bras!

Anniebach Mon 07-Aug-17 22:53:04

A small house in NewQuay Cardiganshire, my husband and I planned that for our retirement , I won't be sad and my grandchildren could visit.
