Now in mid-Lincolnshire. Moved here last year after 40+ years in Ilford, Essex and it's the best thing we ever did.smile
Hello to Nandalot & Callgirl1; looks like we Lincs folk are a bit thin on the ground.

Southport Merseyside.

I like Domalis cafe and the Gurkha Cottage for a curry in Crystal Palace. CP park is a great place to take the kids, as is Dulwich Park.

Hi Scribbles and Nandalot, we may be a bit thin on the ground, but perhaps it`s time for a Lincolnshire meet up?

Jangran99 Wed 16-Aug-17 21:05:52

Hi Marydoll ,I think you'll have guessed that am quite near you, living in Kilsyth.I grew up in Bishopbriggs and love Glasgow.

Marydoll Wed 16-Aug-17 21:23:21

My mother was born in Kilsyth, Jangran!!!!!!!!

Fond memories of High Balmulloch and the Kingston flats.

Cherrytree59 Wed 16-Aug-17 21:32:37

Another Glaswegian here
born on the great western road.
If anybody can up with a hospital name I would be eternally greatful.
I have been told that it was run by nuns
(unlikely to be Catholic nuns).
So bit of a puzzle.
No one left who would remembersad

Jangran99 Wed 16-Aug-17 21:38:10

We must have a meet-up with any others living near the dear green place Marydoll. What a co-incidence.

Marydoll Wed 16-Aug-17 21:58:22

Jan that would be good. I don't know if there are others. I keep on hoping to get to the Edinburgh meet ups, but always seem to be childminding.

Jangran99 Wed 16-Aug-17 22:48:50

Same here, but we must all meet up. So come on any others likeCherrytree how about it?

Lynker Wed 16-Aug-17 23:39:40

We've just moved from Yorkshire to a village north of Lincoln and we absolutely love it!

loopylou Thu 17-Aug-17 10:21:58

I live in north Wiltshire, on the edge of a small village NW of Bath. I would love a local meet up but there doesn't seem to be many GNers around here!

Lindylo Thu 17-Aug-17 10:46:35

Scribbles Fri 18-Aug-17 15:08:05

Callgirl1 - I agree. Would have to be mid October onwards for me as my time is pretty much used up 25 hours/day until then. After that, I'm free as a bird ...

callgirl1 Fri 18-Aug-17 15:34:04

More or less any time is good for me Scribbles.

fillygumbo Sat 19-Aug-17 20:44:07

I was born in Glasgow but left when I married and was in London for the best part of 40 years. Now enjoying retirement in West Yorkshire.
cherrytree there used to be a small maternity hospital called Redlands near Great Western Road, could that be it, I can't remember if it was run by nuns or not.

Scribbles Mon 21-Aug-17 09:59:54

callgirl1, and any other interested Lincs folk, I'll get in touch in October and we'll try to sort something out.

callgirl1 Mon 21-Aug-17 14:45:55

Righto Scribbles, will look forward to sorting something.

Libralady Thu 24-Aug-17 22:15:08

Flixton, Manchester. About a mile from the Trafford Centre. Any other Mancunians on here as our local Gransnet is not very active.

Really interesting reading where all the GN'ers come from. Was born and brought up in the NE but haven't lived there for 45 years. After lots of moves around the country we came to Sheffield 30 years ago and after a recent downsize will probably not move again. If I could only move it a little closer to the coast though.....!
