Completely Bonkers - husband, that is!

At the moment my husband's tool box is on one of the beds in the spare room, more tools on the dining table in the dining room and gardening stuff in the conservatory.

W11girl I love your idea but it would never work in our house, my husband would simply not give them back and anyway we have a shed.

Oh Don't get me started with the tools!! I have every single tool and other handy items registered on an excel spreadsheet on my laptop...for years my husband, rather than look for his hammer or screwdriver etc would go out an buy a new one...what a waste! We have at least 40 screwdrivers and 10 hammers! So....one day I got the tools and some boxes and listed them all..and placed them in the loft...so now whenever he needs a tool, I don't have to stress...I just look at my spreadsheet and tell him the box number and location! I make him give the item back to me at the end of the job so it can always be found! A bit anal you might say but it works!

So glad to know I am not on my own for an ''ahem'' absent minded'' husband! I totally agree with you Kateykrunch. When my DH does something in a normal way I am looking for what is absurd about it as usually that is his way too. I love him dearly however he is getting well ''wafty'' I call it now he is getting older.

He can never find anything. Someone else put it there when he does find it (like what do I need with his circular saw for example) He starts one job wanders off (say to go to the toilet) and reappears and starts something else and forgets about the job he has started and then wonders why I clear up the mess from the job he has started cos it is rather inconvenient where he has left his stuff (usually on the kitchen table)

I must admit to having called him ''Victor Meldrew'' a few times lately too Oh and the other thing he does is when he comes in from shopping (not food) he takes it all upstairs and dumps it on our bed. He doesn't sort it all out straight away and then wonders why I am not happy when I go to bed cos I can't get in it!

Imperfect27 yes sounds exactly like DH for holidays too and the bizarre places he puts things

Yup, I have one of those. Where's his set of screwdrivers when he wants them? Well on top of the bookcase in the living room, of course. I would point out that we have recently acquired a large garden shed which we purchased when on a visit to nearby Gardenland to buy potted sweet peas for a tenner. The screwdrivers and various other tools never see the inside of it.

Ha ha - another case of ANOGS then - (annoying old git syndrome!). Can feel the love though Katey - and I love my DH dearly, but some things ...

Just opened up the cool box to give it a clean out and load it up with camping stuff that needs clearing out of the way. Part of DH's 'prep'(weeks in advance) involves 'checking' what we have and then leaving it lying about everywhere! In the cool box I have found fishing line and storage boxes that I bought him last Christmas - I bet he has been looking for those!

Elainel, yes he did! I suppose, on reflection, it was unkind of me to think that they might be attractive to be pinched as well as thinking that he is bonkers, but there is loads of evidence to support my presumption, for example:-
He went to cut the hedge, I just ignored the sand and cement involvement, he took up our lovely garden stepping stones as they were well established into the grass!, he set them on concrete and they are now a trip hazard!
Me?, well I'm just lovely!

I hope he reset them to factory settings and deleted all his information!

Me too! Is there something wrong with putting mobiles in the post? I'm sure ebay sellers must do that every day!

Aren't there lots of mobile phones in the postal system. I'm not sure what he could have done to disguise them. I'm as confused as he sounds.
