Couldn't agree more. Its creating employment locally apart from anything else. I wish I could have afforded more of such help when I was younger.

What a great post !

I totally agree Cherry time is our most important asset. When I was working full time I did exactly the same as you - had my ironing done for me ( I hate ironing) . But it was just one task too many, I wore business dress so lots of ironing for me, my husband had uniform and both girls school uniform.

Just taking that one chore out of equation gave me free time at the weekend to concentrate on people !

This week I have read a few threads on GN that discuss how busy we all are in our daily lives.
I remember seeing an article quite recently that mentioned a large study that involved the USA and some European countries (not the Uk)
The participants were busy families with a wide range in income.
The article stated that the study included a number of millionaires.
Every weekend each family were given an amount of money to spend.
The first weekend they were told to use it to buy time .
Eg a take away meal instead of cooking
The next weekend they were given the same amount of money to buy a material item
This continued over period of time.
The people found that the buying time made them happier as a family than the buying material items.

A few years ago I had spell where I seemed to be being pulled in few directions.
A full time carer for my late father and poorly DD with newborn baby.
For me what broke the Camels back was 3 overflowing iron in baskets.
A free paper had just been delivered with big advert for a new local ironing company.
In desperation I gave them call.
I expected it to be a one off.

For me it was a mini miracle.
It gave me time to sit with my father not just rush around him.
I had time with my new DGS.
In this full on World, Time with family & friends has become much more important to me than anything material.
I wish that when I had a young family and sick mother I been in a position to buy time.
We may have had more quality time with my late Mum and family before it was too late.
Time is the most precious of gifts.
Long post sorry
hope not a waste your timeblush
