Why do you come to Gransnet?

If I want to ignore someone I just do it. Why have a button?

I've mentioned a similar button several times but no reaction from GNHQ. On one forum I now watch more than go on it's called an 'ignore' button. No one else can tell you are using it but it certainly helps.

Yes, that would be useful - but you could hardly post much, could you? Your opinion (or its opposite) might have already been voiced by one of your 'hidden' felow forum members and they'd soon twig who had 'hidden' who!

One forum I'm on has a hide button so you don't have to read anything posted by those who you know will annoy you. Granted, many threads don't make a lick of sense, but it's good for the blood pressure.

A quote button would be very useful too.

I don't really understand why this thread was started in the first place. We often start threads of our own stating what we do or don't like about Gransnet. Everything on here has been said before.

I wonder what, if anything, GNHQ will change as a result of us saying all the things we like ( and dislike!) ?

Discount Codes? I've missed that one.
And Product Tests and Reviews.

Having posted earlier I keep coming back to see what others have to say, when I should be doing an online grocery order. Should I first look at the forums (fora?) for Discount Codes, or Food, or Local chat, or Health, or House and Home, or Product Tests and Reviews, or ... ? Help!!

Members of GN are so many and so diverse, as are the threads that there cannot be anyone who likes everything.

I read and post over a wide range of subjects, but I have never even opened one of the Games threads because I just have no interest in games at all. That is not a value judgment on those who do, it is just an expression of personal interest - or lack of it. Similarly I rarely look at the pedantry threads because I find they get - well - a bit pedantic. Similarly I used to enjoy political threads but don't anymore. Apart from that I usually investigate, if only briefly, most other new threads and follow them up if they interest me.

I will have to write a list of outstanding jobs and shame myself into turning off the pc and getting on with them.

Does that mean you'd rather be on here than doing the ironing, Jalima?

I like coming on GN because I am a procrastinator.

We sometimes ask our "customers" for the same sort of information GN has in the shape of a questionnaire. The results are not dissimilar.
There are those responders who appear pretty happy with things the way they are, there are those who have a bit of a moan but are not out to cause trouble. Then there are those who make a valid point and need to be listened to because it is important to look after the followers you already have before going off to gather more. Finally there are those - the worst - (luckily rare on GN) who seem to want everything done their way and who incite others.
I'll leave GN to decide how they want to deal with the comments from this microcosm of society!

In answer to Lara's question, for me it's the banter, general chat, competitions (more please!) and the book club. I've learnt a lot from the advice threads and articles. Love the comedy spot currently taken by the Argy Bargy, previously by the GN Olympics etc.

It is heartening to see so many new (to me) posters on this thread and to hear how many have been helped in various ways. There's hope for Gransnet yet. It looks as though we might be in for a rebrand anyway.

Well GNHQ. Give us an edit button and a 'like' one. Both would save us a lot of time. They have both been asked for umpteen times.

I visit GN every so often. I do so when I am
a) not busy with RL

b) should be busy with RL but am putting off doing something dull!

I quite like the nostalgia threads, political threads(when they debates and not yah boo sucks nah nah nee nah nah).

I do not join in the forum games very often!
I used to do competitions but stopped..not sure why i think I will revisit.
Got to be in it to win it!

Lara surely you know what we like most - you can tell by the number of 'clicks' on each topic; your advertisers certainly know.
