Feeling on edge and jittery

Today one of our granddaughters (26) is due to have her baby, by a caesarean section. She is tiny, the baby is said to be BIG, so she is constantly on my mind. I am due to have my eye lasered this afternoon, going off to the clinic in a minute, and another grandson has his 3rd birthday today. What with one thing and another, I am feeling jumpy. Wish me luck.

Thank you all. I feel a bit of a fraud now. We got to the clinic a bit early and I was called straight away. So far so good. Had an eye test, pressure test and dilating eye drops, then had to wait for them to take effect, before being called in to see Dr S. She thoroughly examined my eyes, pressure good in both, no sign of bleed reported by Specsavers, then said, we can book you into Windsor!!! I thought it was being done here, says I. Oh no, we haven't got the equipment. I don't want to go to Windsor, much easier to get to Reading, so that's where I shall be going, but when? I don't know.
Big news of the day, baby GGS was born between 12 and 1 pm, lunch time. He weighed in at 9lbs 13ozs, shock but I have been sworn to secrecy about his name, until the new Mum and Dad have told everyone. I have seen a picture though, and he is gorgeous. Tonight I will have a video chat with the 3 year old, if I can get a word in edgewise that is. Have stopped being jittery now after a couple of cups of tea.
Big happy smile

Lovely news about the baby. Congratulations ?
Specsavers said I had a bleed at the back of my eye. Went to hospital and nothing found. Was very worrying at the time.

Our bonny baby GGS is called Solomon, and that's only his first name smile
Not sure yet what I think, but he is gorgeous

Greenfinch Tue 18-Jul-17 20:10:18

I love that name Auntieflo . So unusual and manly. He can always call himself Sol if he wants to abbreviate it.

Alima Tue 18-Jul-17 20:20:16

Congratulations Auntieflo. Lovely name, is that because he was born on a Monday as per the Solomon Grundy rhyme?

Cherrytree59 Tue 18-Jul-17 20:21:16

Solomon was a very wise man indeed.
Sol is the sun
So all in all a great name.smile

Auntieflo Tue 18-Jul-17 20:30:26

Thank you Greenfinch, and all for your kind words.
His grandma, our DD calls him Solly, and I did mention he could be Sol later on.
Alima, I don't know about the Solomon Grundy connection, could be wink
But it may be be that the biblical name, is because his daddy was ordained just about a week before he was born.

Luckygirl Tue 18-Jul-17 20:35:32

Wow! - that is a BIG baby! Congrats to all! flowers

Alima Tue 18-Jul-17 20:44:45

I am sure you are right with the Biblical connection! The only other Sol(omon) I know of, apart from Grundy, is Sol Campbell the former footballer. What a wonderful week for the family.
