Help need a light-hearted hearted ending to a speech

lots of heart in my speech!!

Speeches are always easier to read if written in rhyme.

For many years I have done these for special occasions for friends, acquaintances,and then even strangers!

This was a word of mouth thing, I still do it, providing the people concerned can give me a bit of background info, names, dates, amusing anecdotes etc.

One little tip is to write the speech on index cards; and it is fun to leave a bit of a cliff-hanger at the end of some of the cards and leave folk wondering what is coming next! My OH did this to very good effect in his 3 wedding speeches.

I don't really see why everyone should have to 'be upstanding' for any toast - far better if people can just relax and have a top-up whenever each toast is made.

I have done the Time machine thingy with a quiz (to do with my sister and her exploits) to keep everybody awake and involved.
Its all sorted bar the ending.
However phoenix if you can come up with rhyming ending I would be forever in your debt.
She is an extremely friendly person
a girl who loves a good party (my sister)
She is a chef and feeds everybody
Her chocolates and cakes are legendary in the village.

I can't say much more.

Finally I would like to say how privelledged we all feel to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family members, who have joined in this celebration. Please will you join me in a toast To, Friendship and Family.

I can't see anything wrong with you adding a.n.other toast to round off, even if there have been others. I love any excuse to raise a glass in a toast!!! I haven't anything useful to add, but knowing that you are celebrating an 80th birthday as well as a 50th reminded me of a favourite line from the film 'On Golden Pond' when a nervous, mature boyfriend is introduced to his girlfriend's father on his 80th birthday and tries to make small talk by asking' "So how does it feel to be 80?"

Reply: "Twice as bad as being 40!"
