Talk to your family and agree how you want to approach this. Everyone is different about the amount of contact they want or need its not a reflection on you. I hate people dropping in unexpectedly. Things will settle into a comfortable pattern eventually. Let your son and daughter in law know they have your love and support and give them time to get used to their new life together.

Hi my son recently married and the couple live very near by. I do get along with his new wife and she is very close to her own family which is great. I dont want to be MIL from hell I have my own life etc. My son calls in now and again and I will give a helping hand with things if need be, but do I stay away,? do I contact them?, dont want to accused of interfering. Or ring to see how they are. Hard being a new MIL
