Serena on Vanity cover

When I saw the Serena photo I was reminded me of a very similar one that I saw in, I think, The Body Shop in Oxford 25-30 years ago. It was of a tall, elegant east African. She was clad in little more than a few strings of beads and maybe a loin cloth. She was also heavily pregnant. I thought it was the most beautiful picture of. woman that I'd ever seen. I still do.

I rank it with Michelangelo's David, except that that's a hunk os stone and this was a real woman. As Serena is. I think the photo is lovely.

"Crushed" if any of my daughters did this? Of course not.

Nothing awful about it. She's a handsome and healthy pregnant athlete, a much better role model than stick insect models. As to why? I imagine Vanity Fair has a generous cheque book, though you'd think she was wealthy enough already!

There's nothing more glorious than a healthy, glowing, blossoming pregnant woman!
I have no problem at all with her posing naked if she so wishes, the photo isn't obscene in any way, and no-one is being forced to look at it.
There are so many awful things happening in the world lately, let's celebrate one of the miracles of nature!

I think photos like this are awful, I don't even like seeing woman showing their midriffs under skimpy skin tight tops when pregnant. I hope the poor child won't be embarrassed by it in years to come.

I have just emailed the editor of the DT saying I do not want to naked photos of anyone, celebrity, sportswomen etc. Why would I want to see these photos? Also the girl with the painted and glitter treated breasts - why would I want to see this?

Leave these sorts of publicity to the gutter press or pornography magazines.....rant over

I also think 'Why?' when I see pictures like this.

I wouldn't get naked in that way either nina and I'd feel crushed if any of my daughters did.

Yes a beautiful shot but I don't see why women, pregnant or not feel the need to get naked.
I'm not talking page 3, that's a whole different ball boob game

I'm very pleased for Serena that her partner is the same age and also successful and wealthy - many successful women seem to have to settle for a toy boy model, or their security guard!

Don't like seeing nude pictures of pregnant women, sounds a bit prude but I don't think its for the eyes of the world. However they are amazing photographs and I wish her all the best as a mum, a new phase in her life.

I didn't know that she was going to have a baby ( mind you I know nothing of the lives of sportsmen and celebs.)
Both sisters are fantastic tennis players.
