I have often wondered about snooks. How do you recognise one? Is there a Ladybird book that might help?

And if you spot and correctly identify it, is it compulsory to cock it?

Not that I'm sure exactly how the cocking should be done.

I think on balance, if I did see a snook, I would look the other way, put my hands in my pockets (to make any inadvertent cocking) and stroll away, with a nonchalant air.

Well I think it's a very nice hat, lovely colour and it was just very funny when social media picked up the passing resemblance to the EU flag. Just an amusing, humorous, harmless bit of fun on social media

Yesterday when we were watching the speech, Tricia, my grandson said that her hat looked like the EU flag, the right colours and the stars.
He was so pleased today when he saw in the paper that other people thought the same.

The Queen has throughout her reign used her clothes to compliment the country she is visiting, or chosen a particular style/colour to fit the occasion. It has been obvious since she came to the throne. Visit one of her clothing displays at Buckingham palace next time and it is all there in full explanation.
