By the way MawBroon, I keep meaning to say that whenever I see pictures of your garden, it reminds me so much of our last one in England. Same lawn, fence at end, trees behind. Probably better flowers though.

This is ours at the moment, we had a carob tree trimmed yesterday! The attractive television on the floor is because DH was trying to get me to agree with him that the bigger one he liked, was better.

Just in case you wondered... DGS (7) christened a wood pigeon that came into our garden Derek and whilst we get quite a few, he thinks it's the same one... his Derek.

No idea where he got the name from mind you?

The wood pigeons are obviously suffering from the heat today. One of them has been lying down in the bird bath for several minutes now while the other two have formed an orderly queue.

Phoenix Sounds wonderful. There is nothing more beautiful than the bucolic British landscape.

At the moment I'm not able to take or post a photograph, but my usual place for posting on GN is the old desktop pc in the "office" I.e. third bedroom.

The window looks out on the back garden, which is very much a work in progress!

However, there is an ancient mixed wood "hedge" at the bottom, with a lovely dog rose scrambling over the hawthorn, oak and willow.

Just over the hedge is a field, currently devoid of livestock, as they are getting ready to cut hay, but often home to sheep or store cattle.

I look out of the window often, and there is always something to waste spend time observing.

There are deer that can often be seen browsing along the hedge, wood pigeons and magpies squabbling among the branches, and of course all of the many neighbourhood cats stalking through the grass, perhaps trying to emulate their ancestors and being "tigers in the jungle"

Your DD/SIL are so lucky Katek to have a view of the water. Always a changing scene and always beautiful. I'd love a sea view!

DD/SIL don't have a front garden as such as they live beside a tidal basin. Beautiful in a different way.

Views from my balcony, side window and kitchen at the front of my flat. It's quite noisy at times but there are lots of beautiful, mature trees all round, which I love.

Taken last week before the normal Scottish summer weather returned!

Thank you for posting pictures of your lovely gardens, everyone. If I knew how to do it, I'd show you mine.
I'm not a gardener as such, it's a case of plant it and see, plus lots of pots, but on the whole it seems to be working, and I do enjoy being in the garden, cutting grass, weeding and potting up. The birds seem to like it, too, and they are a constant source of pleasure.
