Woops PS,Forgotten to say I have already booked the Annual Christmas get together for the local residents which I organise every year we have to as the venue fills up very quickly (some booking being placed as early as January) and it gives the not to well off pensioners the chance to save on a weekly basis for their afternoon out with their neighbours we will then arrange for them to pair up on C day so they are not alone.

I have all the smellies for the girls packed away and wrapped in the drawers under my bed so all DGDs DD and DILs are sorted just need the special cards for each couple,and then the gift tokens for the DGCs they are all big now and like to choose their own gifts which saves me a massive headache,all the cards for friends and extended family where bought in 1/2 price sales last January and are ready to be written and posted in December so all the stress is zero at the minute,I will book my Orcado (sp) delivery slot about end of August as they fill up fast,we don't come back off holiday until the 20th December so want everything in place for the big day.

The only way im organised for the C thing is, as a Tescoe xmas saver i top up during the year.And in jan when the shops sell off all the c cards and wrapping paper at half price i make sure i grab these bargains as im a low income

our local pub used to have aChristmas party in July every year,entry fee was a childs toy gift wrapped and marked for boy/girl and an age that it was appropriate for.The toys went to the childrens hospice .It was always a great party and it didn't feel odd at all singing christmas songs in July .I might see if they'll consider reinstating it this year

My youngest son and his family once celebrated the occasion in September, complete with turkey, pudding, tree and decorations, as his wife's uncle from Australia was staying with them and had never experienced the celebration in the UK.

We are having CHRISTMAS!! On Sunday my daughter and GC are over from Australia

I will pick up bits for DGS when I see them. C..... cards, wrapping paper, calendars & crackers buy in July/August when RNLI/RSP catalogues come out.

Otherwise nothing until after DD's Birthday in Sept. Might start a bit earlier this year as new DGS due any day

Me too! Before the summer holidays is just not on!

However I must admit that as a Crafter I used to go to a Christmas class every month starting in January where we made cards in the morning & another festive project suitable as a present in the afternoon & come November I did have a good supply of cards etc. made ready. After 3 years we changed it to Mixed Media & last year I missed not having all that done & dusted.

My daughter is a mad Centerparcs fan and is always pushing to use the re-booking bonus when we come home from a visit. This has resulted in us having booked Christmas at CP when we came home from our March visit.

I love the feeling of no stress about where we go or who we spend it with and I can forget the C word now until December.

ps I realise we are lucky to be able to afford it!

It was on a radio station the other day how many weekends left til the "C" word. I'm happy about it ladies because I fly to oz on 22nd December to spend a month with my DD and Gds.But I don't normally like to think about it till Halloween is over.

From the moment xmas adds appear to be able to curl up somewhere snug and warm away from what is nothing more than a money grabbing manufacturers fiasco would be my idea of MMMMMMM.Then when the sun rises on frosty mornings in the new year, I would have slept through it all.Bliss.

I buy things throughout the year for the "present box" but I always forget what I've bought so it's like shopping in the comfort of my own spare room when I come to decide who gets what. Perversely I quite like a small panic in the middle of December when I discover I've got nothing suitable for so-and-so!
