Thank you everyone for your lovely comments and congratulations.
My DGD had very large tonsils that were obstructing her airway and causing her to gag when she ate certain things I.e. bread. She has always had a very limited selection of food she would eat. We are hoping she might start to try more things now that the tonsils are gone. My DD has said she had cornflakes and sausage and beans (her favourite) for breakfast. It can't be that painful !! Her older sister had hers out last year so we are wondering whether the littlest one will go down the same route.
Hopefully will be going to have more cuddles this afternoon.

Congratulations!

You must be feeling very relieved and congratulations on the twins.
My granddaughter had her tonsils out recently and they made her eat toast in the hospital! I think is is meant to scrape the throat clean. She is very much better without them as she was getting frequent infections.

Very rare to take tonsils out now as they are such necessary little things so they must have been really bad so glad she's ok

I'm glad it all went well!
They are good weights for twins smile

Your DGD will be glad to be rid of those pesky tonsils and adenoids; they don't take them out very often these days so there must have been a very good reason. DGS had his out a couple of years ago too.

Sar53 Thu 11-May-17 19:54:24

My lovely granddaughter is now minus her tonsils and adenoids. My DD said the ice cream went down well. They are staying in hospital overnight. I'm relieved it is all over as I don't live close to them.
The twins were born this morning, a girl first 4lb 12 and a boy 5lbs. All are well and I have had my cuddles, they are beautiful.
An anxious day but everything has gone well.
My OH and I now have 6 granddaughters and 3 grandsons between us, all under 9 !! How lucky are we.
