Happy birthday from a relative newbie - joined a few months ago (though I'd been a "lurker" for a while). So glad I took the plunge and joined. There's lots of interesting conversation, advice, help, fun. GN's are a friendly bunch, it seems to me.

Happy birthday from me too. You are the same age as my only grandchild, but I think I joined when she was about 2 and I saw a thread about long-distance grandparenting, which struck a chord at the time.
Thank you for the lovely friends I have made (some of whom I've met in real life too) and for helping me through some sad, lonely and difficult times,

Well, Happy Birthday to you, Gransnet! I joined in 2012, when my DDIL laughingly said I should now that I was going to be a grandmother. I did, and I'm so glad I took her advice. There are some lovely people on here, as well as some proper rum 'uns. Thank you for the company, the wise advice and the laughs.

We did have Birthday Cakes for the first three years I think. At least in the early days you felt they cared...
