I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

Oh Ruby... bugger computers! I hope all will be back to normal for schedules soon. My SIL was lucky like you and had a private room/toilet. Oddly she longed for someone to talk to after a week. Got it the next day, a temp roomie. Drove her MAD with constant yapping on her mobile and not a word to her. So try to enjoy your private room.

Hope you have some e-books you can download and your wi-fi keeps you in touch.

Thanks, Ann for looking after your friend and letting us virtual friends know.

Wishing you the best... xxxx flowers Lewlew

Hi Ruby! You must be climbing the walls in there! I hope they get something moving for you soon, and that you have a positive outcome. ??? ☀️.

Hello Ruby - can't believe you're still in hospital - at least they've given you a room to yourself but hope you're able to get out of there to chat with other patients a little bit. Fingers crossed you get your op soon and the computer virus hasn't affected the hospital - thinking of you x flowers

just popped in to say 'Hi!' Ruby. Hope something happens soon but the longer you are there the more rubbish really funny jokes you are sent!

Not by me though, I can never remember the punch lines! grin

Bellanonna Sun 14-May-17 23:54:43

Hi Ruby, hope it's not too frustrating in there. A new week tomorrow so I hope you get some news. It's nice to have your own room but you must miss the chat, so I hope you can walk about and talk to other people. Thanks to you this is a nice, cheerful thread with all the jokes. Keep your pecker up as someone said and when you have a chance pop in and tell us how things are going. X

Can a kangaroo jump higher than a house?
Of course it can, houses can't jump at all

"Well David, how was school today?"
"It was great Mum, we made explosives in chemistry!"
"Sounds dangerous to me! What are you doing in school tomorrow?"
"What school?"

My dog's behaviour is getting worse, he keeps chasing people on a bike. It's so bad I've had to take his bike away.

Hi Ruby,
Sorry to hear you're still being kept waiting, it must be mega frustrating for you, but at least you have a clean toilet!
A few one liners for you.....
I was standing at an ATM mavhine when an old lady asked me to help check her balance.....so I pushed her over!
I recently decided to sell my vacuum cleaner, it was just gathering dust,
My husband told me to stop impersonating a flamingo, I had to put my foot down!
People used to laugh at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian, well, nobody's laughing now!
I've spent the last four years looking for my ex husband's killer, but no one will do it!
I refused to believe that my road worker father was a thief, but when I got home, all the signs were there!
Today a man knocked on my door and asked for a donation to the local swimming pool, so I gave him a glass of water!
A recent study has found that fat women live a lot longer than the men who mention it!
I have kleptomania, but when it gets bad, I take something for it!
The first time I met my husband I knew he was a keeper, he was wearing massive gloves!
Dolphins are so clever that within a few weeks of living in captivity they can train people to stand at the side of their pool and feed them fish!

Off to make dinner now, hope I've cheered you up a tiny bit,

Yet another??? Predictive text gone mad-no idea where 'another' came from!

Katek Sun 14-May-17 11:30:30

Morning ruby hope you're in better spirits today. No joke yet another I'm afraid, still haven't come to properly. DIL's 40th yesterday and despite not drinking I feel as if I have a hangover! I think I talked myself to a standstill at her surprise party....her face was an absolute picture when she walked in! Hope things start moving towards your op after the weekend.

Auntieflo Sat 13-May-17 22:32:41

Hi Rubylady, sorry to hear you are in a room on your own. I know you like to chat and be cheery, but at least you have your own 'facilities'. I hope GN's keep sending you jokes, sorry none from me, can never remember them. Everyone is rooting for you and your recovery. Take care, night , night, God bless.

bikergran Sat 13-May-17 21:49:51

your a strong lady (cough! girl) smile it must be taking all your strength to keep cheery..I do hope your soon back on your feet ta ra for now..

Indinana Sat 13-May-17 21:40:50

Oh gosh, 3 weeks is a heck of a long time to spend in hospital. And now just to be hanging on, waiting for an op that she so clearly desperately needs.

Ruby I really hope you have your operation scheduled very soon. It's so unfair to keep you hanging around like this. Please try to keep your spirits up. It will happen. You will get home to your little dog. You will be on the road to recovery soon.

Chin up my lovely - just remember the old saying: This too will pass. And in the meantime here are some flowers, though I guess you'd rather it was wine xx

NfkDumpling Sat 13-May-17 21:28:11

A clean toilet now I hope!

Fingers crossed for next week.

annsixty Sat 13-May-17 20:55:14

I have visited Ruby this afternoon and she is not a happy bunny.
She has been in now nearly 3 weeks and apart from knowing she needs an op and what it is she is no further on.
She is now in a single room with her own toilet which is an improvement but not much. She is really stir crazy,
Please keep up with the messages, they mean so much to her.

GrandmaMoira Sat 13-May-17 20:27:05

I've just seen this thread and hope you are improving RubyLady and will be home soon, away from the grotty ward.

Judthepud2 Sat 13-May-17 20:06:24

Just back from a GN break and picked this thread up. So sorry to hear you have been so poorly Rubylady. Hospitals in my experience are not for the faint hearted! I hope things are resolved for you soon ..... and that cleaners come in to sort the place out. Sounds like the ward manager is letting things slide there. What has happened to the infection control policy!

Indinana Sat 13-May-17 12:27:48

And thanks Bellanonna, though it could well be that I'll be sent home again on Monday. After having to get up at the crack of dawn to be there by 7.00am shock

Indinana Sat 13-May-17 12:26:46

Oh bugger, I've just checked the Guardian list and my hospital is affected angry. It wasn't on other lists I'd checked.

Bellanonna Sat 13-May-17 10:33:49

I just read that anno. I hope Ruby will be ok. How worrying.

annodomini Sat 13-May-17 10:15:59

According to a list of affected trusts in today's Guardian, the Central Manchester University Hospitals is one of those trusts affected by the cyber attack. Poor Ruby. I hope her ongoing treatment won't be adversely affected.

Bellanonna Sat 13-May-17 09:55:20

Oh, indinana all the best for Monday

Indinana Sat 13-May-17 09:44:44

Yes, Ruby was the first person I thought of when I heard about the attacks. I do really hope her hospital remains unaffected. Ours have (so far) mercifully escaped, for which I am very grateful as I'm booked in for surgery on Monday.

annsixty Sat 13-May-17 08:52:11

I also hope not Pittcity.I watched the local news last night and the Manchester University group wasn't named also our local hospitals seem not to have been affected ,for which many thanks.

Pittcity Sat 13-May-17 08:34:40

I hope you've not been affected by the cyber attack Ruby.
