Kindness of strangers

My son and his gf had twins 12 weeks early last month and I just wanted to share how wonderful the kindness of strangers has been. They were given boxes from a charity called "Emilys Star" (please have a look at their website) with lovely useful bits and pieces, including knitted cuddle blankets, new baby clothes, toiletries - all sorts. The NICU had lots of lovely knitted hats and cuddle blankets donated by kind and thoughtful strangers, along with little handmade miniature laundry bags and other bits and pieces. These made the sudden delivery of the babies seem less "clinical" and has given them the air of normality that is so appreciated. If anyone knits or makes thing for charity THANK YOU!!! Ronald McDonald House has been fantastic too, without which I have no idea how the new parents would have coped. We have a lot of fund raising to do in the future!!

This thread contains the main clue to how to cope with problems with families! You can make friends with complete strangers sometimes, and you discover you aren't the monster your family thinks you are!
