A 45 minute shower

Just watched it on catchup. Wow.
I think it was the parents leading the children in th branding race. They looked old enough to have been brought up in more sensible times so how did they get brainwashed? They seemed quite intelligent people so it goes to show anyone can be 'had'.

What does she do that takes 45 minute? Once you've washed, rinsed and conditioned your hair and washed your body, then what? Does she start again and do it all twice?
Maybe she takes a book in with her, oh and an umbrella of course!

If I had three sets of twins I might be tempted to spend 45 minutes in the bath too.

We have a room for shoes but it is called Cupboard

My OH has the heating on at 15 Then I put it up to 18 when he is out of the room! Just can't understand these people who spend like this family and don't know how to save money. They want to try living on a small pension

Similarly saw a newspaper article on women's makeup, and the three interviewed spent between 30 and 45 minutes doing the makeup, and used between 9 and 16 products!! Was absolutely gob smacked! Where do these women find the time ?

She must be quite prune-like when she's finished. Or perhaps she's abnormally tall so there's much more to wash!?

Well according to Thames water it's 4 minutes. Can't manage it in that time x

Wow 45 minutes! I thought I took a long time,about 15 minutes on a good day,20 on not so good days. And that doesn't include washing my hair. But my excuse is that I have osteo or rheumatoid arthritis in numerous joints,plus fibromyalgia,so showering is not the easiest of activities for me,due to stiffness and being in pain. I thought I was painfully slow compared to my DP who is in and out in about 8 - 9 minutes, including cleaning his teeth and washing his hair. I think if anyone spent 45 minutes in MY shower,all the hot water would be used up! As for having the heating on 30°C,I would pass out from heat stroke! I can't bear overheated houses.

We may be in the shower cubicle for 5 minutes but we don't leave the water running all of the time. We wet ourselves and turn it off. Then I wash hair, lather up with shower gel, shave legs and underarms and then turn the water on and rinse off. We have a water meter at the house and want to keep costs down. Our fishery business premises has a shower cubicle connected to 2 one thousand litre water containers. We transport the water from our house in a 3rd container on a trailer and syphon it in to the others. We advise our clients to use the 'wet, lather and rinse' method but some of them can be running water for about 15 minutes. We are unusual in that the water we supply is fresh as opposed to other fisheries where the water is piped from the lake and can be smelly and coloured.

The woman in the TV programme must get through thousands of litres every time she takes a shower if she takes 45 minutes each time.

Even at 10 mins which is my maxim, my concern would be the cost of heating the water.
A cold shower in summer maybe. Winter? I will pass on that.

I've just thought, with 8 people having showers or baths they must use a huge amount of water, but I have just remembered that they do five wash loads a day, so the amount of water they use must be astronomical!!!

Inishowen I'm in and out of the shower in less than 10 minutes including washing my hair. I rarely have a shower as I prefer a bath and I hate washing my hair in the shower. I wash mine in the bath and then rinse it with the shower attachment. What I wondered was with eight people in the family how much would it cost in water?! I am assuming they haven't got a water meter! Apparently whenever you move house a water meter will be put in for the next occupant. I have a water meter and I had it put in as I live alone, but I still think it's very expensive. When my daughter was living here my water bill was more expensive than before I had the water meter, which was really annoying. I can't believe how much the family spent, it was absolutely unbelievable and ridiculous.

Greyduster 15 degrees? Are you kidding me?! So that means your heating hasn't come on at all I take it?!

Your Mum would get on well with my DGS aged 12 who takes forever in the shower. He likes ours as it is a powewr shower & he has an over the bath one at home!
I'm in face cleansed, body washed, hair washed & conditioned in 5 mins max!
I spend ages in the bath reading though- you can get stuff to coat your glasses so they don't steam up.I only do it once a week.

I take about 7 minutes in the shower, including daily hair wash. I wouldn't like to stand for 45 minutes in a shower cubicle. How boring. I watched the programme and it made me cross. The BBC must have a long search to find people who are so wasteful.

I don't like showering as we have a combi boiler and it's getting on a bit, so the temp is a bit dodgy. I got rid of the electric shower as that had to strength at all. I don't think you are 'supposed' to have a regular shower on a combi for that reason-dangerous to kids or something... oh well, it works for us.

Now a nice deep bath in scented water... sigh. I can spend a half hour in that, then use the shower nozzle to rinse hair. No longer though, no wine, no candles, just hot and deep with foam on top. Does wonders for my back. Go to bed clean... saves a lot of time in the morning!

I've just re-read the OP - it said she showers for 45 mins sometimes even more than once a day. I think she's definitely trying to get away, although I would have thought a read in the bath was more relaxing, or perhaps a bath with the radio on quite loud.

Madness, I said open the windows, turn the heater down, kids don't need expensive backpacks to throw on the floor. But with three sets of lovely twins they need a break.

I couldn't help thinking they must have a good income she worked part time she didn't have time to work full time washed 5 loads every day and as for heating on 30 degrees I would melt .

I timed my shower, including hair wash, not rushing just normal shower, and it was 7 minutes too. I like to keep an eye on the water usage re the meter. My bills would be horrendous if I was spending 45 minutes. I can't think of anything I do that would take that long any way.
