Queen Camilla

Prince Charles is campaigning for Camilla to be Queen Camilla when he becomes King. I would not like her to be Queen. I think they both behaved appallingly in carrying on their affair when they were both married to someone else. They had no concern for the hurt, upset and heartbreak they caused Diana and Andrew PB. They just thought it was perfectly OK to act as they did. It's 80 years since Edward abdicated to marry a divorced woman, and Margaret was not able to marry Peter Townsend, even though she was unlikely to ascend the throne. So what rules have changed? He has what he wanted and married her, but making her Queen is condoning their adultery.
But I think I'm in the minority in my view.

Tiggy is a lovely person, we always know when they are visiting, police, helicopters etc. When they were young she use to take them on great adventures, tickling fish, rock climbing, even absailing on bridges, canoeing , camping in the grounds of the estate , the things most youngster do here, when Harry was here on army training he spent more time sleeping at the estate than in the camp. And no cameras, no press, they had such freedom . Diana could have done the same but chose not to yet was jealous of Tiggy.

I can't think of anyone more suited to be Queen than Camilla. She has grown into her role and now knows how to get it absolutely right. Always supporting, never upstaging. Her sense of humour is evident whenever a public occasion veers into the ridiculous. She brings out the very best in Prince Charles. No wonder he adores her.

Good grief! The sanctimonious spoutings about the 10 Commandments is ridiculous in this day and age! Of course everyone who gets married experts and hopes that their marriage will last for ever but many do not. Charles and Diana were clearly unsuited but they produced 2 lovely children who clearly loved both of their parents very much. Camilla - ditto. I do hope that those posters who are castigating these couples are never faced with situation of having one of their own family members embroiled in a marital split, it could lead to disaster. confused

I'd forgotten 'Tiggy-gate'. Not very saintly of the Blessed Diana. More like the behaviour of a spiteful child in the playground. I think Tiggy was a breath of fresh air after the clinging, weeping mother act that the boys had to endure.

Anniebach Mon 27-Feb-17 17:55:24

And the caring Diana , doting mother, was so miffed that her sons adored Tiggy she claimed in public Tiggy had an abortion , they are still close to Tiggy, Harry is godfather to one of her children and they still visit her .

What hypocrisy? Plenty of that about. Choose between Charles making his marriage vows knowing that he loved another woman, or the 'Queen of Hearts' manipulating the public with her Martin Bashir interview, all doe eyed, all victim, while she too was having an affair? Hmmm....

MissAdventure Mon 27-Feb-17 16:44:55

I have no loyalty to Diana. Its the hypocrisy that gets my goat.

Beammeupscottie Mon 27-Feb-17 16:33:52

I expect it is a loyalty to the Peoples Princess! But she has gone, so why deny her ex. some happiness?

GillT57 Mon 27-Feb-17 16:22:44

Lots of misinformation Yorkshiregel. You are of course completely entitled to your view and opinions, but it is a bit underhand to back them up with untruths. Camilla and Diana were a generation apart, hardly great pals, and your comments about Camilla having children with another man are full of insinuations. You were lucky to be able to marry the man you wished, and your marriage has been a happy one, why should you deny that to anyone else?

Anniebach Mon 27-Feb-17 14:27:39

As for best friends for a long time, Diana was twelve when Camilla got married

Jalima Mon 27-Feb-17 14:23:10

Her step-sons seem very fond of her too and presumably the step-grandchildren are as well.

Anniebach Mon 27-Feb-17 14:23:03

Yorkshiregal, I said nothing about typos, just explained what you were mistaken over

Jalima Mon 27-Feb-17 14:20:45

I don't know where you find your misinformation Yorkshiregel!!

I think the reason Camilla kept on her country house is so that she can see her own family and grandchildren (DGC from her son and daughter) in peace as I can't imagine that Charles is a 'get down on the floor with the step-grandchildren' type of step-DGF - although I am sure he is perfectly lovely to them when he does see them and can show them his garden and encourage them to talk to his plants

Anniebach please allow for typos and predictive text. I wish we had edit on here but we don't.

Yorkshiregel Mon 27-Feb-17 14:19:07

ok, she had a boy and a girl. Not two sons. Two children anyway.

Anniebach Mon 27-Feb-17 14:18:38

Camilla had one husband not husbands

Family dumped? Never hear about her sons?

Then Ten Commandments are not the commandments of the church, they are the commandments for Jews and then became the commandments for Christians because Christ the founder of the Christian Faith was a Jew

Jalima Mon 27-Feb-17 14:16:54

Charles was not allowed to marry the girl he wanted because she was already married with two children of her own.
confused
No, they were seeing one another, both were single, she was also seeing Andrew P-B who was quite the catch, apparently, and Charles was sent off to sea to get over her because she 'wasn't suitable'.
While he was away she married Andrew P-B.

Yorkshiregel Mon 27-Feb-17 14:14:52

Anniebach, no she had two sons with her former husbands. William and Harry are Diana's children and always will be. They are step-sons to Camilla.

Yorkshiregel Mon 27-Feb-17 14:13:24

Anniebach you are right, he is not the Head of the Church of England.....yet. But if he becomes King which he must then he will be.

Anniebach Mon 27-Feb-17 14:13:05

Yorksgiregal, are you claiming Camilla had four children, two before she married?

Yorkshiregel Mon 27-Feb-17 14:12:01

GillT57 I was shocked that Prince Charles would stoop so low! They deserve each other.

Anniebach Mon 27-Feb-17 14:11:18

Charles is not head of the Church of England

Margaret said she was able to marry Townsend but would have to give up her line in succession to the throne , no more just not be number three for the throne.
Camilla did not have two sons , she had a son and a daughter with her husband , so by another man is just an attempt to make it sound sordid.

Camilla and Diana were not friends, lived in different parts of the country , Camilla was country, horse riding etc. Diana hated country, loved city life and big age difference, didn't attend same schools or finishing schools.

Yorkshiregel Mon 27-Feb-17 14:09:12

Actually it was Queen Elizabeth that forbad Margaret to marry the love of her life.

Yes, I am a old fashioned girl, and proud of it.

Charles was not allowed to marry the girl he wanted because she was already married with two children of her own.

What has Camilla chosen? A life as, hopefully, The Queen of England. How can any man compete with that? What about the family she already had? Dumped. Do we ever hear about her two sons? No we don't.

I agree to disagree and I am sorry you think I am judgemental but that is how I feel....along with thousands of others I think.

Because something happens regularly nowadays does not make it acceptable or right.
