There were rumours that Harry was the child of the ghastly James Hewitt, a cad if ever there was one. Those on here who are extended sympathy to the late Diana and hating Camilla for being an adulterer should also give some consideration to the wife of Will Carling, another victim of the whole unhappy mess that was the arranged marriage of Charles and Diana.

I agree with that. He has taken the trouble to explore/learn about other faiths for many years. Quite ahead of his time, really.

She is supreme head of the Church of England but not of the Church in Wales but is queen of the U.K. So if Charles becomes king he will be head of the church in England but not of the Anglican Church in Wales or any other country he will be king of . Think Charles is right to want to be defender of faith not defender of the faith of one country

She is Supreme Governor of the Church of England for those who don't want to wade through the link. The monarch has been since Henry VIII.

The Church of England is Anglican , the Anglican Church is world wide , each country has its own arch Bishop, Wales has it's own arch bishop, the head of the world wide Anglican Church is Christ .

Yorkshiregel Anniebach, no she had two sons with her former husbands. William and Harry are Diana's children and always will be. They are step-sons to Camilla.

I think you will find that the Duchess of Cornwall had only the one former husband before she married the Prince of Wales. He, Andrew Parker-Bowles, was the father of her two children. As they are called Tom and Laura it seems quite likely that they are a son and a daughter rather than two sons.

Prince Charles certainly is not the Head of the Church of England and nor will he ever be, whether or not he ascends to the throne. If he becomes King, he will be Supreme Governor and Defender of the Faith or, possibly Defender of Faith if his proposed planned change should be accepted by Parliament. Jesus Christ remains the Head of the Church of England.

You posted my thoughts exactly stillalive, I like her too and agree Charles was pushed into marrying Diana. People seem to forget Diana also had affairs with married men.

Not that I am condoning affairs or am at all a Royalist but Camilla was in love with Charles long before Diana came along (if we believe all the media tells us). It must be difficult to be told who you should or shouldn't marry. Imagine having to be married to someone all your life and not want to be.

I am being fair Merlotgran, all you list the cameras were there, she informed the press of the Thorpe Park trip, the skiing was every year, most of the windsors do it, an annual holiday. She was furious when she was stopped taking her sons to America to stay with the American she was seeing, she was stopped because of security risks, it was then she took them to fayeds yacht and the cameras had great shots of the boys on the beach. Little wonder William disliked the press, she paraded her children for the press. I was sorry she was so needy but she was not nineteen when she did the fayed revenge . I don't understand why this - she needed love is put forward as an explanation for all the unkind acts

I wouldn't be unkind about Diana as I think she was a victim of her upbringing, her naivity and what happened after the marriage. She needed to be loved and she wasn't so turned to the public for adoration.
She loved her boys and they clearly adored her and miss her still today but that was the love of a young child for a parent and she saw little of them because they had to go away to school of course.

To be fair, Anniebach, I was no Diana fan but she did take the boys on lots of 'adventures' (of the Thorpe Park and jet-ski-ing kind} They may have been photo opportunities but the boys appeared to be having a whale of a time.

I'm afraid my imagination will not stretch to the image of Diana tickling a trout or abseiling over a bridge.

Agreed Merlotgran. Camilla is just about the most sensible and down-to-earth person in the royal circle. Especially when you contrast her to the shenanigans of Sarah and Andrew and a few others.
