Did you ever model yourself on your heros and heroines of your youth ?

I had a "purdy" cut on my hair for a long time as per Joanna Lumley with a thick fringe and very black eyeliner to copy Dusty Springfield, mum used to made when I tried to take it off and it left black marks on all the towels and flannels in the bathroom.I tried without success to make the black & white mini dress made popular by Twiggy it turned out like a blouse.

I can remember as a child being very impressed when I saw an actress whose smile was lopsided. It started in one corner of her mouth, then spread to the other side
I practiced and practiced, and to this day I have a lovely lopsided smile!
(Probably not so attractive on a woman of my age - I expect people think I have medical issues!)

I am listening to the sound track of West Side Story and I remember I tried to copy Natalie Wood's hairstyle.

I also had the lopsided hair cut that Cilla wore.

I wanted that slinky dress Marilyn Monroe wore walking along to get on the train in Some Like It Hot. Sadly I didn't have the curves or the money.

Who did you model yourselves on ?
