Anyone else got signs of Spring in their garden yet?

Yes, the snowdrops are out and the daffodils are coming up.

And the roses are still flowering, must get out and prune them back.

Still flowering roses from last summer Jalima ? It must be milder where you live! My climbing rose was stunned into submission by frost last November! No sign yet of any regrowth either.

Walking the boss's dogs (nice part of my job!) notice loads of snowdrops out in the banks, daffs coming up (actually in bloom at Landcross, but they are always early) catkins appearing and pussy willows.

Lake was frozen over on Thursday though, Laylah did not like it!

Yes, I am on edge of Peak District at 1000ft and have snowdrops, Heather, cyclamen colm and lovely scented shrubs Viburnum Dawn and a Hamamelis which has lovely bright primrose yellow with a red centre flowers. Also some early primroses flowering. So looking forward to the first crocus and daffs.

Well, they are in bud but have not opened.

In the same neck of the woods as you Hilltop. My garden just isn't big enough for witch hazel but I love that shrub! I've seen catkins roundabout and a bit of forsythia but my gardens looking rather bleak. Even the cyclamen have drowned!

Anyone planted any new spring or summer bulbs that they've not tried before? I've planted up some Queen of the Night tulips, paired up with Red Riding Hood, into two tall planters at the side of my front door this year. Not tried tulips in pots before because I've been told that pot grown tulips won't flower for a 2nd year?

Sparrow and magpie hopping around with bits of nesting material in their beaks. Starting to practice ?

Snowdrops out, daffodils in bud, winter box smelling divine. Crocus showing promise. All good isn't it? I even have a red rose but that is a rogue!!!

All our bulbs are growing, the snowdrops are almost in flower, the winter box is about to flower as are the hellebores. My aconites are in flower but remain a tiny clump. There are buds on lots of the shrubs. We are in North Leicestershire.

Here in S.W Scotland the snowdrops and crocuses are looking cheery and the daffodil's are in bud.

Tulip shoots are showing in pots, there are a few snowdrops and crocuses out and my Triteleia shoots are well up. Trees and shrubs are budding. Daffodils are slow go this year.

Snowdrops are in bud but none out yet. Bulbs have been showing for a few weeks but are still just leaves.

No snowdrops here! They refuse to come out if it isn't cold enough( or squirrels have scoffed the bulbs.)Narcissi have pushed up about four inches.We went a bit mad last Autumn planting bulbs but now cannot remember exactly what we planted or where!
It will be a surprise when they come up.

It's always the first thing to show signs of spring. Now has tiny red buds all over.

Not much really except the bulbs in the borders and pots are showing about three or four inches of green now. The chamelia buds are smaller this year than they were at the same time last year, and my hellebores are struggling. I have been noticing catkins in the hedgerows for a couple of months now; far earlier than previously. I never had much luck with snowdrops in my last garden; planted loads but never had many come up. I've never tried them in this garden. Maybe I should.

Snowdrops are just out and the primroses too. Hellebores in bud, aconites through just and daffs around 3" tall. Star of the show at the moment is the mahonia, it's bright yellow bracts look so beautiful.

The Cornus Mas in my garden is in bloom with its little yellow pom-poms along every branch. It's a welcome splash of colour on yet another grey morning. There are fat buds on the Rhododendron Praecox and the snowdrops are a cheerful sign that spring isn't too far off.

Primroses in abundance.clematis.lilac.honeysuckle iin bud...tete a tetes pushing through birds very very FRISKY!!!! but still got the dratted MOLE -wish he would go under the fence into the field...

Normally we would have snowdrops in flower by now (end of January!), but there's not a single one in sight yet - not even a bud. We live in a very mild part of Central Europe (Upper Rhine) but have also had the -9 to -11 degrees just this past week.

South Wales, lots of bulbs through but no buds, grape hyacinths are showing their pretty blue flowers, also lots of primroses and primula, cyclamen has flowered all winter but looks sad in the rain. On the whole garden looks sad, too on buds on trees opening, my favourite time

Here in Dorset a few snowdrops are in flower. The cyclamen seem to have disappeared along with the aconites. The crocus are pushing their way through, also the daffodil bulbs. A bit disappointing really. However, onwards and upwards! Should improve but cold weather forecast for February. I've just noticed a few primroses flowering which is promising.

I've just been to look at rhe Madonna - nothing at all.

Bristol,some primroses in flower,snowdrops still in bud,but my hellebore which I planted 3 years ago has 2 buds and a bloom fully open.
